The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.
Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.
Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?
Lydia Green meets Vaughan Hewson on the worst day of her life. Her happy wedding day is now in shambles and full of drama. When trying to escape, she hides out in a nearby cottage and eventually meets the owner Vaughan when he returns. Lydia finds an unexpected ally and protector.
Vaughan and Lydia find themselves becoming attracted and they don't want to resist their chance at seeing how good it could be. But they are both only supposed to be hanging out temporarily before moving onto new places. A simple hot fling between friends should be a nice stress reliever...

Vaughan's a down-on-his-luck musician with that easygoing, sexy, bad-boy vibe. We met him in Deep as part of the opening band for Stage Dive. But he's also kind, protective, and loyal. He is in the middle of his own personal crisis, but I loved how he encouraged and tried to instill confidence and self worth in Lydia.
She is a bit of a hot mess, but she is sweet, sassy, and ready to move on with her life. She's sick of being the butt of everyone's jokes. She's insecure and used to being controlled. So she is trying to regain her own sense of self and find some stability. This new thing with Vaughan is just supposed to be a temporary time of lust and insanity between her previously controlled existence and settling down.
They both tend to run from their problems. She's now looking for a place to settle and find a home while he is determined to leave all those he loves again to continue to chase his dreams.
This is a humorous, sexy story of two people finding a connection during challenging times in their lives. They definitely had chemistry and rapport, but I also loved how Vaughan tried to help her confidence level and make her feel beautiful. But he definitely had some issues to wade through and so did she. They could be stubborn, set in their thinking, and guarded. But I genuinely liked them both. It was a pretty light read with some mild skirmishes an background drama.
Her drama. His drama. His sister Nell's drama. Yeah, they all had issues. But they all end up working at the Dive Bar with a crazy crew. There were a lot of new characters to meet and quite a bit going on in their group--Nell, Pat, Eric, Joe, Boyd, Rosie and Andre all had their parts to play in the story. The next book, Twist will feature the big, blonde bear, Joe.
I have to admit that I struggled a bit at times. It seemed like the sex sometimes took over the story. It was crazy-at-first-sight with insta-lust and insta-like, and a fast time period towards feelings. But it was fun and quirky too. Overall it was a spin off from the Stage Dive series that I love (there was a fun cameo from that made me smile) and it has good potential to grow as a series due to the new unique characters introduced and stories already formulating.

Vaughn Hewson is home for the first time in years, and is surprised to find a bride in tears in his bathtub. The confident, cocky rocker had avoided home and the people he loved while chasing fame. While he sorts out how to handle his house, his sister, and his future, he finds the distraction Lydia provides a welcome relief.
Lydia Green should be celebrating the start of a new life, but instead finds her heart and her plans ripped to shreds. Running out of her own wedding was not something she predicted, nor was finding herself caught breaking and entering by the tattooed owner of the worn house she used as a hiding place.
I liked Lydia. Though she had her world yanked out from underneath her, she set about to pull herself together as quickly as she could and had some good insight into how she found herself in that situation to begin with. But there were times when her thought process baffled me. For all her determination not to change for a man, she did not give herself time to sort out what she wanted before she jumped in with a new man yet again. Granted, Vaughn is not her ex, but for as devastated as she was, she moved on rather quickly.
The sparks fly quickly between these two and they decide that in the time they are both still in town, they should let the sparks fly. Either plan to stay long, but both could use the distraction. There were times the sex felt like it took over the story and didn’t leave room for feelings to develop.
I was expecting something that left me feeling like the Stage Dive series did, but I just never fell in love with this book like I did that series. As I finished Dirty, I couldn’t help but be conflicted. I liked the overall story, and the new characters, but something about Dirty didn’t pull at me the way I had hoped.
The ensemble cast introduced through Nell’s Dive Bar added a lot of drama to the story, and should prove to be filled with the kinds of personalities that will carry this series. There are so many twists and connections behind the scenes at Dive Bar that I couldn’t help but be curious about where Nell’s drama would drive her own story. The next book in the series, Twist, centers on Joe, one of the bartenders at Dive Bar.

Expected November 22, 2016
When his younger brother loses interest in online dating, hot, bearded, bartender extraordinaire, Joe Collins, only intends to log into his account and shut it down. Until he reads about her.
Alex Parks is funny, friendly, and pretty much everything he's been looking for in a woman. And in no time at all they're emailing up a storm, telling each other their deepest darkest secrets...apart from the one that really matters.

And when it comes to love, serving it straight up works better than with a twist.
