The most beautiful man I've ever seen is the one who can ruin everything...

The first time I lay eyes on Callan Walker, I know he’ll be trouble. With his smug grin, hot Aussie accent and thousand dollar shoes, he’s just the kind of rich guy who always gets what he wants.

And he wants two things: a night of sin, and my cooperation as he outmaneuvers his powerful mother to take control of his uncle’s estate.

I can’t afford either one. I’m the only thing standing between my little sister and the foster care system. He may have money and charm on his side, but I have something even more powerful -- pure desperation. This temp job at his mother’s company can become a full time job for me. It has to.

But when Callan’s eyes rake over my body, sometimes I forget my obligations. His piercing gaze finds the fun, optimistic girl I used to be and not the tired person I’ve become.

And it works--if only for a moment. Our night together was a mistake. I can't afford to get sucked into his high-powered family’s treachery. But the closer I get to Callan, the more layers I find beneath those expensive clothes. Though I can’t forget this is temporary. He’s temporary. I have too much to lose.

Too bad my foolish heart didn’t get the memo...
Grace Kerrington just got a promising new assignment with her temp job and she just knows if she does well it will become permanent. All she has to do is inventory and help sell off the estate of her boss's deceased brother--books. art, wine, apartment, etc. She is smart, organized, meticulous, and knows art and business. it should be a perfect fit for her, and she is determined to proved herself. She needs the solid stable income to support her and her sister.

But enter Callan Walker...a complication. He is the estranged son of her boss who loved his Uncle. He is good looking, charming, and has a divine Australian accent. He is not happy with his mother's plans to liquidate his beloved Uncle's estate, and is equally determined to locate another will and try to honor his Uncle's memory. Thus putting himself right in Grace's way.

Grace finds herself caught in the middle between her cutthroat boss and the flirty man gaining her attention while dealing with his own grief and issues. As they become more of a team, the sexual tension, chemistry, and attraction grows. She's smart enough to know she is playing with fire. He's from Australia and a rich playboy. She's a poor New Yorker working as a temp and caring for a teen sister. It could all blow up in her face. The job, the man, all of it is supposed to be temporary. But Callan is just so tempting...

I really liked them together and enjoyed the dual points of view. He did kind of manipulate her or flirt her into doing what he wanted at times, but I also felt underneath he did have a big heart and a vulnerability to him. He was definitely more than a party-boy millionaire, it just took something that he really believed in and someone to care about in order to inspire him. Grace was sassy, caring, and honestly struggling. But she was also proud and determined to make it on her own merit. They had such fun and flirty banter and great chemistry. They really came from different worlds, but also had some similarities in their background that they could appreciate. I liked seeing them open up and begin to feel more than expected. There were opportunities for character growth. The story line was dynamic enough to keep it moving and me interested. It was funny, sweet, romantic, and sexy with just enough tension, drama, emotion, and angst.

The two authors' writing flowed well together and was engaging and entertaining. Callan being an actual Aussie felt right with the language and terminology used. Although it has a resolved enough ending, there was just a tiny hint that maybe a secondary character might be getting a story. I would be interested in reading more from these two authors.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
