Adrien Pierre Laurent has had a bit of bad luck lately due to an accident and gossip. He is known as a jetsetting playboy and thrives on competition and breaking the rules. His cousin is the King of his isle Eastwood, but they are now at odds. He is in America trying to figure out what to do with his life and what opportunities to pursue when an unexpected invitation presents itself.
A future Queen and a Royal Rebel are a match made in either Heaven or Hell. Can Victoria persuade him to join her in holy matrimony and her cause? And if so, can she tame him into someone more suitable to impress parliament and the people? Is Adrien ready to settle down and rule a different isle than he was born?
This is a funny, sexy, swoony, royal love story with a likable main couple and plenty of interesting side characters. It is a story about freedom, friendship, breaking rules, fighting for what is important, and finding a true connection. There were various side stories and hidden agendas going on that added mystery, suspense, and danger to the plot.
I enjoyed the fact that there were five small isles that all had royal families. I am looking forward to more with these royals especially the jilted ginger fiance', Maximus and the sexy playboy, Spencer. I really liked Tori's secretary Rachel and her sister Ava, and Adrien's cousins Truman and Elizabeth. There are lots of fun royals to watch for in future books of this series.
