This is a stand alone set in Lucky Falls where Best Laid Plans took place. So it brings back Arden and Gabe's police woman friend, Perri Keating. She is smart, loyal, and dedicated to her job. A routine traffic stop brings her eye to eye with the sexy stranger, Derek McBride. He is new to town and she cannot help but respond to his scruff, tats, muscles, and how he looks sitting on top of his bike. And he is just as taken with the fiery redhead. They did not expect to see each other again until Derek finds a way to run into her. And that leads to a whole other set of circumstances and the plot thickens even more. They agree sharing kisses is okay, but have other rules in place. Both are adamant that they are not looking for a relationship. It's a game of temptation, frustration, and push and pull. But even the law abiding cop is going to have a hard time keeping her hands to herself with the sexual tension blazing between them.

So make new rules, right? What could possibly go wrong?

These two are so afraid to really want or need each other and are terrified that the other does not want more. Their chemistry is right on target, but their communication needs some work. They both have struggles with work that cause more pressure. And it is hard to figure out if feeling good for awhile is enough or if they are brave enough to take a chance and ask for more.

I absolutely adored Derek. He looks and talks like a bad boy, but also has a big, loving heart. And Perri is feisty, sarcastic, and tough, but also deep down wants to be swept off her feet, although she is scared to admit it. They are both so tempted, and yet so terrified. But their passion is off the charts and they are so good together. I just loved these two!

This is sweet, sexy, funny, and emotional. I was glad to be back in Lucky Falls with this crew. I liked getting more with Arden and Gabe, Vanessa, and her brother, Shaw. They have a fun friend group that takes care of each other. But there are also some other dynamics brewing. I am looking forward to getting more with Shaw.

From the minute Derek rode into town, he is attracted to the pretty red-headed cop who pulled him over. He may be here to help out his sister, but that doesn’t mean there might not be time for a little fun. Perri Keating couldn’t help but be intrigued by the tatted up biker she pulled over, but her track record with men is terrible and she needs to keep her focus on work. 

When she discovers he is her new housemate, the brakes are pulled on whatever might have developed between them. She can’t afford to lose the income from the rental, and he needs a place to live. But they’re adults, so what’s the worst that can happen?

These two have fiery chemistry from the beginning. Neither is looking for anything but fun, and are very clear on boundaries. But, as Perri’s friends can see, things between them quickly take a shift neither had counted on, but was probably bound to happen -- they are a perfect fit of the other’s type. 

Once again, Lauren’s writing has me swooning, enjoying, and fanning myself throughout. This couple struck me more than the other 2 set in this wine country town for some reason. I think because they are both so focused on what they need that they forget to look for ways that others can help them. I love the backdrop of Lucky Falls, and the small town festivals that build the community. The way the upcoming kissing contest plays into Perri and Derek’s time spent together only furthered the steam factor. Because one that Feel Good Factor has been played, it is difficult to pull it back.
