All I want for the holidays is the willpower to resist my brother’s sexy, charming, easy-on-the-eyes new business partner.

Instead, I'm stuck planning all the holiday parties with the one guy who makes me want to break my dating diet.

Who thought that was a good idea?

Oh, me. Yep, brilliant, strategic me who raised her hand and said yes I’d love to hang mistletoe with that hot former sports star. (Note to self: Mistletoe leads to toe-curling, knee-weakening kisses.)

And I’d love to get snowed in with the one guy I shouldn’t fall for. (Addendum to the note to self: You know exactly where eight inches of snow leads to. Ahem, eight inches.)

As long as I can make it through the holidays I’ll be on my merry way, fa la la la la. But the holidays have a surprise for me.

This is a sweet, flirty, sexy, and fun holiday novella with all the fa-la-la-la-feels.

Vaughn Channing is an ex-pro football player who is finally happy in his life and in his work as a sports agent since he is working with his friends in their own firm. And it shows. He is easy-going, charming, and not afraid to just go with the flow. He has plans to move away to open an extension of their firm and be near his family. Work is his primary focus. He is on a no-women, no-complications diet and plans on keeping that way.

Quinn Cummings is his business partner's sister, and he has been enlisted to help her plan the firm's holiday party. She is detail-oriented, organized, and a consummate planner. She does not like surprises and thrives on control. She needs to be able to plan for every possibility. Focusing on her event planning business helped her get over a bad break up, and she is adamantly on a men hiatus.

But neither one expected that their resistance and anti-romance vows would be tested at a business meeting. That they would spark with chemistry, and that their banter would be constant and entertaining. And that they would have a lot in common, while also having fundamental differences. Or that these not-date planning meetings would feel like perfect dates. And that they would get carried away during the time already known to have an expiration date.

They both know the score. They realize it is dangerous for hearts to be involved. And they find ways to talk themselves into what they want while convincing themselves it will all be fine in the end since they have a set plan.

But when the holidays and their time draw near, what surprises might be coming their way?

I really loved Quinn and Vaughn, and this novella is just adorable. They are so much fun together and their rapport just made me smile. Their chemistry is undeniable. The holiday background makes you want to put on a comfy sweater, enjoy a hot chocolate, and sing Christmas songs with them. I enjoyed spending some time with their families too. Quinn was dedicated to his family even though they lived away. We already know her brother, Josh fell for Haven (Overnight Service). There seems to be a story brewing with her sister, Amy already. And who knows about her sister, Tabitha who lives in Paris. But I love this extended group so bring them on!
Quinn is a party planner and loves everything about Christmas. Her brother has asked for her help in throwing his company’s Christmas party this year and she is full of ideas. Planning parties is a natural extension of her need to plan and prepare for everything. She does not do impulsive or unexpected and thrives on control and organization.

Vaughn is a former pro-football player turned sports agent who has come to enjoy all aspects of his life outside of pro-sports. He enjoys his new line of work and is looking forward to moving to help the company expand. When his best friend asks him to help plan the Christmas party, he is game.

Quinn and Vaughn have quick chemistry, falling into a pattern of witty banter mixed in with their enthusiasm for planning this party. They find they have a lot in common, including a love for the upcoming holiday season and a desire to avoid romantic entanglements. But as their planning meetings continue and begin to feel more and more like dates, they decide to cross that line and have some fun with Vaughn’s move as the expiration date.

This book was so much fun to read. From the holiday atmosphere to the couple’s chemistry, this put a smile on my face. It also helped jump start the holiday season for me, and I found myself wondering if the 1st week of November was too early to start decorating for Christmas. Even though this is set during the holiday’s, I feel like it will translate well outside the season simply for the easy way these two have with each other. No matter the season, Quinn and Vaughn are the life of the party!
