New York Times bestselling author Tarryn Fisher delivers a pulse-pounding, fast-paced suspense novel that will leave you breathless. A thriller you won’t be able to put down!
Thursday’s husband, Seth, has two other wives. She’s never met them, and she doesn’t know anything about them. She agreed to this unusual arrangement because she’s so crazy about him.
But one day, she finds something. Something that tells a very different—and horrifying—story about the man she married.
What follows is one of the most twisted, shocking thrillers you’ll ever read.
You’ll have to grab a copy to find out why.
Wow. Just wow. What in the hell did I just read?! Total mind fuck. I didn't see that twist coming. At. All.

Kudos to Tarryn Fisher for holding me captive from start to finish, in one sitting (this is a feat in itself). Kudos for making me so invested in characters I didn't really like, so much so that I couldn't stop devouring all the words. Kudos for leaving my mind whirling with so many questions, with trying to figure out reality from fantasy/truth/deception, even after turning the last page.

Congrats on writing one fucking hell of a book!

Thank you, Tarryn Fisher for reminding me why I love to read.
Holy Moly did this book send my mind reeling! I went into the book more or less blind. All I knew was the narrator was one of three wives of the same man, and that the women didn’t know each other by anything other than the day of the week their husband had assigned to them.

This has so many twists and turns that I never knew who or what to trust. The shifting truth had me caught up in Thursday’s ordeal as she tried to do what she thought was best for everyone in her life. I quickly found her to be an unreliable narrator, which had me questioning not only what people told her, but also how she perceived events as well. As the characters are fleshed out I found myself not trusting anyone, and having a hard time sympathizing with any of them. There are lies, manipulation, doubts, and threats woven intricately throughout the story.

I spent most of the book uncomfortable. The challenge of this book is sorting through to the truth. This is not a genre I read often, so I struggle to rate it when I do. I can’t use my usual judgments to differentiate between 3, 4, or 5 stars. Will I read this again? No. Will I recommend it to people who love psychological reads? Absolutely. Was I comfortable as I read? Absolutely not. Even weeks later, I’m still not sure how to rate The Wives, it is well written to the point that even though I was unsettled, I couldn’t put it down until it was finished.

I will start with the fact that this is my first Tarryn Fisher book and it is not usually a genre I read. I am not sure what I think. I am not sure what to rate. I am not sure if I even liked it or hated it. I had a hard time getting into it at first, but then I could not put it down and stayed up late reading it in one sitting.

I could not really connect to the heroine, Thursday, and there is unreliability in her narration from the beginning. There are four main characters and most of them have secrets, lie, manipulate, feed insecurities, and it is still unclear who had the most issues.

It is a convoluted, mind-bending, perplexing, constantly changing story, and it is hard to know what to believe even after it is over. Basically everything is not always as it seems and it looks different from every viewpoint. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. But it left me troubled and thinking about it, and going back and questioning other parts I read.

So after all is said and done, I am still not sure how I feel about it. But she created a story that was unique, twisty, layered, shocking, and full of interesting dynamics.
