Two hot roommates, minus clothes, plus a drawer full of debauchery, and a WHOLE lot of tension. You don’t have to be a math genius to figure out the sum of that equation.

They say I’m a super genius, but would a super genius make the outrageously stupid mistake of falling for his roommate? Out of all the men in the world, I had to go and develop a crush on the one who’s already in love with his best friend.

But when Theo tells me he found my drawer of toys, the only logical thing to do is to offer some no-strings fun. I’ve read enough romance novels to know this can’t possibly end well, but I can’t seem to stop myself from falling for Theo. The only question is…

Will he be there to catch me?

***By the Numbers is a low-angst roommates to lovers to HEA story with plenty of heat and lots of swoony moments. It’s the third book in the Love Logic series but can be read as a stand alone.

I was excited about this pair since we met them in Rocket Science. Theo has moved from New York to California to be closer to his longtime best friend and crush, Elijah, and his big brother, Pax...even though he was shocked to see them fall in love with each other. He moves in with Elijah's university friend, Alex, and becomes part of their extended friend group.

Alex is a younger genius and aerospace engineering PhD student. He is cute, sarcastic, and easily distracted. He enjoys romance novels and quirky t-shirts. And he loves helping kids learn. But his own childhood was spent studying and missing out on fun things. His life is all planned out and has been forever due to his parents' influence.

Theo is also getting a PhD, but in psych. He is a caring, loyal, and thoughtful guy, but he is lonely. He is a bit jealous that his brother found love with the man he had feelings for, but can see how happy they are. But he craves to have someone important in his life as well.

After enjoying too many random hookups, both guys have decided that spending some time being celibate would be good for them, and are starting to become friends. Theo tries to help Alex catch up on fun he has missed and to live a little. But a look here, a touch there, and maybe a little kiss under the influence leads to them thinking...

How bad would it be to release some sexual tension with each other? Would someone catch feelings or get hurt? Is Theo still pining over Elijah? If only lust and love was as easy as following an equation.

This is a delightful, oh-so-steamy, new friends-to-roommates-to-lovers, M/M romance with just the right amount of angst and tension (and unique toys). I really liked both of these guys. They are just so adorable and a bit nerdy, but also have great chemistry. Even though Alex is younger and totally brilliant, he is not shy or inexperienced. He can hold his own. They are able to get through the other's defenses and see their full potential, but they do have some self-discovery and growing to do as well.

It brings back all of the friends we have met in the other books, but can be read as a stand-alone. I was happy to get more with darling Elijah and Pax, and Bishop and his guys, and Seph. There was a little hint at a possible story for a nerd and baker and I am here for it.

“Wow, something you don’t know; that’s a bit unsettling,” I tease, and catch a quick grimace on his face before he smooths out his expression.
“There’s plenty I don’t know.”
“Like what?” I ask.
“Like…” He licks his lips, his eyes dropping to my mouth and lingering there for a few seconds. My heart beats wildly, my cock—my whole body—aching desperately for the kiss I’m pretty sure he’s thinking about giving me. It’s a bad idea; it’s a messy idea, but fuck I want it.
I’m not sure which one of us moves first. For all I know we move at the exact same time, crashing into each other with eager force. Alex’s lips are soft but insistent against mine as he drags his fingers through my hair, tugging gently. I move closer, knocking my laptop off my knee and onto the cushions, and then slip a hand under his shirt. His skin is smoother than I imagined, his kisses anything but passive as he coaxes my mouth open and slips his tongue inside.
I moan into his mouth, his hot, wet tongue gliding against mine, our kiss growing heavier and deeper. I dig my fingers into his lower back, feeling the hard outline of his erection against my thigh.
Alex breaks away, resting his forehead against mine and dragging in a deep breath.
“I guess that’s one thing I now officially know,” he says with a hint of humor in his otherwise raspy voice. He darts his tongue out to lick his lips like he’s tasting the kiss. Fuck that’s so hot. I mirror his action, dragging my tongue along my bottom lip and nearly moaning out loud again at the flavor of him lingering there. I want to taste the rest of him, strip away his clothes and suck bruises onto his skin, grind our hard, bare cocks together, slide my fingers between his ass cheeks and tease his hole until he’s begging me to fill him.
All the wanting hits me so hard I almost can’t breathe.
“What’s that?” I ask trying to focus on his words, my brain slow and sluggish, my cock hard as steel as my body buzzes to get close to him again. Although I’m not sure how much closer I can get with our clothes on, we’re still pressed against each other, his breath fanning over my damp lips with every exhale, our foreheads and noses bumping. A little voice in the back of my mind whispers that clothes are definitely an optional part of the equation.
“We’re hydrogen and oxygen, baby. We’ve got chemistry.” He waggles his eyebrows and another laugh bursts from my throat. Fuck, he’s cute. And hot. And I might be a little bit fucked.
I groan, unable to help myself as I hook a hand behind his neck and drag him in for another kiss.

Author K.M.Neuhold is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, MF romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book she was completely hooked on everything about lovely- and sometimes damaged- men finding their Happily Ever After together.

She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul, and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series.

When she's not writing she's a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero...just kidding, she's likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky while her amazing husband brings her coffee.
