I once met a man on a cold Halloween night. He dressed as a superhero, and I dressed in red. For one night, I was his break from reality, and he was the temporary fix for my broken heart.
Two years later, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to become a senior editor at one of the biggest magazine companies in the world. The only catch? Nail an exclusive interview with New York’s finest bachelor: Connor Roe.
To the rest of the world he was becoming one of the wealthiest men in New York City. To me, he was simply my once upon a time superhero.
My job was to get an exclusive interview with New York’s hottest bachelor. Never in my life did I expect him to want an exclusive with my heart, too.
The only problem with my growing feelings for him? I was set to marry his new business partner.
It happened one Halloween night. Two people meet up and spend one enchanted night sharing their thoughts and dreams, but they set the time limit as the day breaks. It is the story of the right person at the wrong time, and it just becomes a beautiful memory as well as a catalyst for change.
Two years later, Connor Roe is even more successful than he had been then. He is rich, driven, passionate, outgoing, and thrives on doing more and giving back. He is an obsessive work-a-holic with charitable intentions but keeps his private life out of the media. He is a Southern-bred Mama's boy with some deep scars and fears from his past that keep him from having relationships.
Aaliyah has been left behind her entire life...in the foster system and previous boyfriends. She is an introvert that has trust issues and craves love. She is on the cusp of making her personal and professional dreams come true...or so she hopes. She just has to go through a few more hoops to make them become a reality.
They are thrust back into each other's life again unexpectedly. Again it seems like timing might not be on their side...or is it?

I loved Connor and Aaliyah together. They have this easygoing rapport and natural chemistry. They balance each other and are both such caring people. Despite his success, he is down-to-Earth and loves to make people happy. He strives to show her how special she is. And she inspires him to introduce more playtime into his busy life.
Flashes and moments of love and happiness. Fate. Destiny. Kismet. It has the potential to be the best or worst thing that could happen to them. These two can be magical together, but also have some serious hurdles. Sometimes one's challenges conflict with the other's issues and fears. Connor has always been afraid to love because of the chance of loss. And Aaliyah tends to chase love and settle because she has never had true love given to her and wants it so badly.
Is there a way for a second chance at something more or are they destined to be temporary and just share fleeting moments?
This is an emotional, inspiring, second-chance romance with some definite challenges, surprises, twists, and swoon-worthy moments. It's about dreams, trust, risks, rewards, and living life to the fullest. There are so many layers to their story and I do not want to give any spoilers. Connor has really grown up from the wisecracking, goofy young man we met in Southern Storms, but his industrious spirit and determination has definitely expanded into the world of the ultra-rich. But I loved how he still kept his Southern roots and gentlemanly ways, and truly cared about giving back. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into Jax's future too.
I totally fell for Connor's young, broody, and intense protege', Damian. I am hoping that his story will be coming in this series.
Even the town’s black sheep needed a friend sometimes
All I wanted to do was run away, I never expected to crash into his arms…
After leaving the city life behind to escape my loveless marriage, I moved to small town Havenbarrow for a fresh start.
What I didn’t expect was to find myself drawn to the town’s black sheep.
They called him troubled. Cold. A man with a dark past.
What everyone seemed to miss about Jax was the splashes of light in his eyes. The random acts of kindness he performed when no one was watching. The way he made me smile and laugh.
Jax helped unpack the baggage I’d been carrying around with me. He was patient with my pain and gentle with my scars. He was the stillness during my hurricane.
Yet when both of our pasts come back to haunt our present days, we realized quickly that sometimes loves stories didn’t end the way we’d hoped.
Sometimes you were left with only the damage from the storm.
