A sexy, brother's best friend sports romance from # 1 New York Times bestseller Lauren Blakely!

Let me make a few things clear. I didn’t go to the wedding intending to dance with the best man, to dare him to show me a very sexy pic on his phone, or to accidentally kiss him in the hotel elevator after the reception ended.

But you know how it goes. Things just happen at weddings...

The next day, Crosby and I agree to put all those shenanigans behind us. The fun-loving, stupidly gorgeous, all-star baseball player might be my brother’s best friend, but he’s my friend too and has been for years, so it’s easy to move on, especially because I have a high-profile business to run.

But since he’s newly single and I’m always single, it turns out we both desperately need plus ones. We agree to “publicly date” over the next two weeks of galas, parties and events before his baseball season begins.

The only trouble is the more time I spend with Crosby, the more I keep imagining how much I want him to take my V-card.

And when I broach the possibility with Crosby, his answer surprises the hell out of me.

This is a start to a new baseball romance series and I could not be more excited! LB fans will remember Nadia Harlowe, the football team owner previously in Vegas. She is now moving her team back home to San Francisco. And her brother happens to be best friends with Crosby Cash who is a baseball player on the San Francisco Cougars. So bring on the hot baseball player friends as well.

Nadia is confident, sassy, outspoken, and wealthy. Her high power job and income are intimidating to many men so her love life has been in the dumps. She has never gotten close enough to anyone to even lose her V card. She is leaving Vegas to return herself and her football team home and has a lot of work to do.  And she is also ready to attend her brother's wedding.

Crosby is charming, easygoing, fun, and superstitious. He has made a string of bad choices in women that have affected his reputation and trust. He tends to let women in too soon and ends up getting hurt. So he has decided to bench himself from dating and make his friends act as accountability partners. He has the brilliant idea of buddying up with his best friend's sister to attend the wedding and other sports-related events in the near future to keep him out of trouble.

Unfortunately, the buddy thing does not seem to be working so well. Old crushes, witty rapport, simmering attraction, and genuinely enjoying each other's company starts to blur the lines. A kiss, some naughty text flirting, and an idea of possible friends-with-benefits sends thoughts skipping down another path. These two are absolutely not supposed to be getting involved...but tell that to their bodies, minds, and hearts. They can't lose their friendship, but what will this mean for them?

This is a low angst, sexy, witty, best-friend's-sister, friends-to-lovers, ready-to-lose-virginity rom-com. I loved Crosby and Nadia. They were so much fun together and I could feel their connection and chemistry. I enjoyed that they had history, but they had never really addressed any of it. So there was some old stuff to unpack along with the newness of spending time together now. They trust and respect the other enough to be vulnerable, and are flirty, and even a bit dirty. Nadia might be inexperienced, but she is not pure and innocent, and Crosby oozes sex appeal, but also has a soft heart. They have their rules but they seem to be changing too.

I liked his large group of friends and the fact some were from different teams. There is camaraderie, ribbing, support, competition, and only a bit of rivalry. And it was fun getting more with her friend Scarlett, and meeting some new ones in San Francisco. I am excited to read more with all of these guys...Holden, Chance, Grant,  and Declan...Batter up!
Nadia doesn’t have time for relationships- her focus is business and reestablishing her football team in her hometown of San Francisco. She didn’t mean to ramp up the banter with her brother’s best friend, but it just happened. She also didn’t mean to hold on to her V-card for this long, but without letting too many people close, she just hasn’t found anyone that she connected with enough to share that level of intimacy with. She is driven, career focused, and confident in her abilities. Settling the team in their new hometown is something she wanted to do to honor her father's legacy, and for now that's all she needs.

Crosby has decided to take some time off from dating after several disastrous relationships. He wants his focus to be on his game, not on fixing mishaps with a date gone wrong. His friends are behind his vow, serving as judges towards his vow to remain unattached, including Nadia’s brother. Though he has promised to avoid entanglements, he needs a date for several upcoming functions, and what better person than his best friend’s sister, who is also not looking for anything beyond company at events.

I loved these two together. From the “buddy” stage to more, their banter and friendship are at the core of everything they do. These are not brand new acquaintances, these are two people who have a platonic history testing the waters of close quarters. Though they are trying to avoid feelings, the angst level is low - for the most part they are great at communicating their thoughts and needs.

This was a fun read from start to finish. A brother’s best friend with a twist. A virgin who knows what she wants and isn’t shy about asking. There was so much to love about this story. I enjoyed getting a glimpse at a few new characters with this new series centering around a baseball team. Crosby’s friends were a great support for him and I can’t wait for more of their backstories.

A sexy standalone forbidden sports romance from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!

The woman I want is as off-limits as they come.
I had an excuse two years ago when I met her on campus. She interviewed me for a story on major league baseball's rising stars, and we shared a hot, passionate night that ended far too soon, and without a mention of who her father was.
Now I know the innocent but sexy woman I can’t stop thinking about is the coach's daughter.
That means her dad is the guy who determines if I bat fourth in the starting lineup in every game, or ride the bench.
All the more reason to resist alluring, confident, brainy Reese every time I run into the reporter-turned-sports publicist.
That ought to be easy enough, until the time she confesses she's still carrying her V card, and she’s been wanting me to cash it in since the day we met.
Staying away from her is going to be harder than resisting a fastball down the middle.

As a pro athlete, I’ve spent my life playing by rules, on and off the field.

Especially this one — Don’t date another baseball player.
Following that ironclad rule has been as easy for me as hitting a lazy pop fly on a summer afternoon.
Especially since I’ve got far too much trouble in my past to want to bring any into my present.
Until the day a hotshot rookie walks into my locker room. Outgoing, affable, and sexy-as-sin, Grant has confidence and talent for miles.
Doesn’t help that he’s easy to talk to, that he seems to get me, and that we each have our fair share of secrets and scars -- ones we’ll both fight to protect.
All the more reason to resist the kind of trouble his lips and eyes promise.
Even after I plant a scorching, hot kiss on the rising star one night after a game.
Even after he sends me the world’s sexiest selfie.
But when Grant reveals his biggest secret, and asks for my help, I’m so damn ready to rip up the rulebook.
Turns out he’s a virgin and he wants me to help him get around all the bases.
As long as I don’t fall in love with him as we go.

Scoring with Him is book one in a two-book duet. This romance between two professional athletes spans five epic years and continues in Winning With Him. Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan narrate both books.
