The first book in the TATTERED ROYALS series!

You are cordially invited into the lives and secrets of the Waterford Royals, leaders and unwavering socialites of the country of Alden.

Royal backstabbing is only the beginning, with the court and nation's gazes on the Waterford siblings at all times. With eyes on the throne, the family will have to look beyond the lineage that set them on their paths and the connections they've lost with each other as their worlds crash down around them.

The Waterfords know their duty and their place. Only falling in love with the ones that could shatter their legacy might be exactly what these royals need.

London is the youngest of 4 royal siblings. As she prepares to take a photography job she has been chasing after, she learns of an obscure law that has her brothers sending her from the country to protect her while they try to find a way around the rule.

Kannon, head of Kannon Security, is in the right place at the right time to rescue a stranded motorist. But what starts as a good samaritan action, quickly sends him into full on protector mode as shots are fired from an unknown source. He quickly learns that the random stranger he picked up on the side of the road is royalty and she becomes his next job.

The bodyguard/princess trope works quite nicely here. They have great chemistry, even as Kannon battles inner demons from a past trauma and London fights against the mold her country is trying to squeeze her into. But there was a lot of back and forth that had me wishing they would just make up their minds already, as well as a few bone-headed decisions that were predictable even as they moved the story along.

This was an easy, quick read with a royal flourish. It held my attention even when the characters made decisions that I could see three steps ahead of. But it was one of those reads that entertained me and seemed to fly by. I enjoyed getting to know the characters - both Kannon’s crew and London’s family, and am looking forward to several of the stories teased here. I have read many of Carrie Ann Ryan’s books, but I believe this is my first from Nana Malone, though it won’t be my last!

USA Today Bestseller, Nana Malone's love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion, and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.
