Release Blitz: Feuds and Reckless Fury: K Webster
Release Date June 1, 2021
From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes an angsty and emotional enemies-to-lovers gay romance standalone!
The hatred began when my father proposed to another man in a shocking moment that rocked my family to its core...
Now I’m on a quest for revenge against my father.
That means hitting him where it hurts—the new fiancé and the son he thinks so much of.
Alister Sommers.
Alis is a bleached blond perfectionist thorn in my side who’s used to everything going his way. Grades, money, track—he dominates it all despite his short, insignificant frame.
Was one dad not good enough that Alis had to take mine too?
Soon, we’ll be stepbrothers.
Until then, I vow to make his life a living hell.
Maybe Dad will regret his terrible mistakes.
Maybe he won’t.
I know I won’t regret wrecking their lives like they did mine.
I’ll give up everything, even my girlfriend and football, if it means I get a chance for retribution.
It’s reckless and risky, but I don’t have much to lose.
The havoc I wreak might ease some of the pain Dad caused my mother.
I’m willing to give it a shot.
What starts as a family feud will become a war…one I plan on winning no matter the cost.
There’s only one small problem.
I may have underestimated my opponent.
Canyon Voss was the golden boy of his family and high school. Football star, beautiful girlfriend, wealthy family. And his father screwed it all up by leaving them and then rubbing it in with a shocking proposal. Now, Canyon has been going through some things...confusion, betrayal, hurt, anger, and is now set on vengeance. And the best way he can think to get back at his Dad and mess with his new relationship is by harassing the other man's son.
Alister Sommers does everything in his power to be as perfect as he can be for his adoptive father. He had a hard life before and wants to keep what he has. He is a perfectionist, artist, violinist, track star, and is very intelligent. He does not rock the boat. He is dealing with the new family situation fine...until he becomes Canyon's target. But he is no pushover either.
These two are so freakin' intense! What starts out as bullying, stalking, and taunting from Canyon towards Alis morphs into Alis biting back. Competition increases. Flirting becomes fiercer. Hate starts turning into heat. Taunts to tension. Reaction and disdain to attraction. Volatile thoughts with more physical manifestations.
Canyon may have started this, but he is not sure who is going to finish it or how things will end up. He is as surprised as anyone about his changing thoughts and reactions. These guys light up the pages physically and emotionally. At times it starts to feel like Canyon and Alis against the world. I became totally invested in their burgeoning bond, secret relationship, and unexpected love story.
But along with the issues about their relationship, there was a lot of external drama...seriously, a lot. I think at times it was a bit too much between the family drama, past issues, suspense, threats, and unexpected events. One particular plotline near the end seemed to resolve too easily to me and felt a bit rushed. But overall this is an intense (I know I keep saying that but it is true), passionate, enemies-to-lovers story that explores the importance of family ties and relationships. It also has a parallel with life imitating art that I found original and interesting. It really hooked me in and these two were just full of fire and feels. I loved the epilogue and was happy I jumped on this wild ride with them.
