Blog Tour: The Best Men: Sarina Bowen and Lauren Blakely
THE BEST MEN
Release Date: January 25, 2022
Audible: Narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Jacob Morgan!
Bestselling authors Sarina Bowen and Lauren Blakely team up for the first time in an enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract, irresistibly sexy standalone romance between the best man and the other best man!
If only I had just texted my sister. But nope. I accidentally sent the message to her, her groom, and his super hot wingman.
I also used the phrase “super hot wingman,” so I’d like to die now.
Instead, I have to plan a wedding with the aforementioned hottie and share a too-small guesthouse in steamy Miami.
Three days in the sun with the cocky, charming former athlete who likes to push my buttons? Fine, two can play at that let’s-infuriate-each-other game.
Until Asher ups the stakes with one wildly sexy suggestion. A no-strings fling, then I go back to my single dad life in New York, and he returns to his star-studded one.
Sign me up.
But the more nights I spend with the other best man, the more I want days too, and that just can't happen. Especially when I find out the real reason why…
Contents Include: First times, a secret to-do list, champion-level flirting, fast cars, #eggplants, and two men who look good in formal wear.
Two of my FAVORITE authors and in the M/M genre seems almost too good to be true! And it is soooo good! I totally fell in love with these guys and they had me smiling and swooning!
Mark Banks is recently divorced and a single dad. He is a math nerd and trader and loves stats and spreadsheets. He has been out of the dating world for a long time and has not had much experience exploring his bi side. He is a bit awkward, sarcastic, analytical, jaded, protective, and wound-tight.
Asher St. James is an out and proud ex-football (soccer) star and current photographer. He is easygoing, charismatic, cocky, and wealthy. He brings the fun and spontaneity, and goes with his gut instinct. He is a bit flighty and does not think he is good relationship material.
When Mark's sister gets involved with Asher's longtime best friend they are thrust together. And there is some antagonism and snark even during fun and games. Mark is dealing with his own reaction to things. Asher is not sure what to think about Mark. But a destination wedding, two best men, and a small guest house is going stir up all-the-things.
I loved these two! Mark really had a lot of aspects to his personality once his walls started coming down. He has such a loving and protective heart. And he is not a pushover and is not afraid to ask for what he wants. Asher is outgoing and spontaneous, but he also cares deeply and is loyal. They are equally matched and love to push each other's buttons. They just want to do the best they can for the couple and had no idea what kind of turn things would take. They surprise even themselves.
This is a sexy-as-hell, snarky, swoony, entertaining, opposites-attract, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, best-men-secret-fling-at-a-destination-wedding romance. These guys have scorching hot chemistry, differences that balance them out, and some common interests. They inspire each other to try new things and get out of their comfort zone. But their situation has an expiration date and their lives come with obligations and challenges.
These authors both brought their trademark humor, heart, and heat to this story and these characters are well developed and totally lovable. Their styles blended beautifully and I was engaged from the first page and hated to say goodbye to them.

Mark and Asher are complete opposites and the thought of working together as the best men for Mark’s sister’s wedding to Asher’s best friend causes both of them to wonder how they’ll make it through. Mark is very organized, has a plan for everything, and backup plans for his backup plans. He is nervous about the pace at which his little sister is moving forward with her relationship, but he also is a good brother and wants her to be happy. Asher is spontaneous, creative, and perpetually late. But he is the life of the party and doesn’t think he can do serious relationships (because, serious!).
For Mark, it would have been a big enough challenge having to work with Asher for 3 days in Miami before the wedding, but to make matters worse, he drunk texts some rather embarrassing messages to the whole wedding party rather than just his sister, so Asher knows *exactly* what Mark thinks of him.
I loved the chemistry between these two. Their differences really fell away when they started to get to know each other, and those differences balanced them rather than pushed them away. These two each had reasons for trying to avoid anything with the other best man (besides the fact that they would always be tied together through the bride and groom). As they got down to the business of their best men duties, their strengths shone brightly and their chemistry soared higher.
This was such a fun, sexy, swoony read and once I started I didn’t want to put it down. I loved Mark’s daughter, Rosie, and the energy she brought when she arrived in Miami. I love each of these authors as individual writers, and together they made magic happen!
