A fake marriage standalone MM romance from #1 New York Times Bestselling author Lauren Blakely writing MM romance as L. Blakely...

One night with no strings was supposed to be the plan.
After barely escaping my last train wreck of a romance, I’ve got a new dating goal—play it cool.
I stick to that strategy when I bump into a charming Brit I met once before. He’s newly out and eager for all the things he’s never done, so I make the helpful suggestion we jet off to the city of sin for the night, then say goodbye.
But instead, thanks to a bet and some bourbon, we’re saying I do.
And in the morning I’m asking myself what the hell have I done? But we’ll just undo the holy matrimony right this stinking second.
Except, the pics of our nuptials are splashed all over the Internet–the pro football player eloped!
Great, just great.
Now, my agent says we need to stay Mister and Mister until the brouhaha blows over.
Thirty days as fake husbands with the sexy, irresistible guy who’s determined to prove that he’s nothing like my ex?
My bruised heart can handle that as long as I don’t fall for my husband.
And I won't. When we split for real, he'll be an ocean away.

Contents include: A sarcastic, romance-phobic American football player, a charming and dirty-minded young British businessman, white-hot first times, dangerous decisions, and a sexy, witty, emotional fake marriage, first times MM standalone sports romance!

Nate is a somewhat jaded, divorced, pro football player, and has decided to quit being serious about relationships and just try playing the field.

Hunter is an outgoing, British, streaming network executive who has just recently figured out some things about himself and is eager to explore.

A meet-cute and a hot interlude leave them thinking about the other, but realizing it is just supposed to be one night...until the opportunity arises for another night that might just be in Vegas. That leads to some unexpected shenanigans and complications. What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay there but that is not always the case.

Now they are in an unexpected situation and just trying to get through it with the least amount of damage possible to their reputations and their hearts. They enjoy each other's company in and out of the bedroom. Nate is a gentle giant that has been burned and is still feeling negative repercussions from his ex. But he is loyal, loving, family-oriented, and can be both bossy and vulnerable. Hunter is a bit younger, fun, adventurous, and irresistible. But he also is a bit insecure about some things and can fall into negative self-talk as well. Even though the relationship is supposed to be for show, their connection, chemistry, and trust are very real.

They are learning to live in the moment and explore new things together during their fabulous fake honeymoon, but they both know there is an expiration date and not much time to be husbands.

This is a fun, witty, sexy, swoony, oops-we-got-married, M/M romance where the characters actually surprise themselves. Nate and Hunter are just such good guys, and so cute and hot together. They have witty, flirty, dirty rapport. They both have trust issues, but just really deep down want respect, care, and passion. They make each other excited about life and intimacy. They totally deserve to find something good but are scared of being hurt or not being enough, so they will have to make themselves believe the risk is actually worth it. And there is the little challenge that they live and work in different countries too.

I just loved these two together and their story. There are some fun cameos from the LB Universe and I am totally interested in more with their friends. And a progression from previous side characters made me smile.
Nate is a football player just out of a bad relationship that has left him with an aversion to serious relationships. He is ready to have some fun for a bit while he avoids the heartache that came from his last breakup.

Hudson is working a new job with a streaming service, helping to set up a new sports documentary series. He may be new to the position, but he has ties to the industry that he is trying to keep on the down-low. He is also exploring his interests and is looking for a guy to try new things with and on.

After an adorable meet cute, they spend one steamy night together that leaves them wishing for more time. But responsibilities and airline flights call, and after making a pact to get in contact after a year, they go their separate ways. But their separate ways have them both longing for another night and another chance. A quick trip to Vegas finds them at the end of a wager that ends at a drive-thru wedding chapel and facing big repercussions the next day.

I loved these two from early on. After their impulsive decision to get married in Vegas, other forces converge to suggest they stay married for a month before making any further changes to their relationship status. That month of fake marriage provided so many fun scenes full of steam (of course), but also vulnerability, support, and heart.

The pacing moved pretty quick, and though early on it felt a little like insta-love, these two quickly developed real feelings that messed with the temporary nature of their arrangement. I loved the way this story developed through the middle, and the resolution at the end. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a fake/rushed/accidental marriage!

There are some great cameos from other Blakely series and stories and I could see the bits and pieces as they fit into the wider world of her characters. As always, this is a standalone built into such a rich world that there are always hidden (and not so hidden) connections throughout.

A friends to lovers MM romance

My buddies made me do it. I swear.

I didn’t plan to bid big on a date with my baseball player best friend at the auction. But he looked really good in that tailored suit, and I can't resist a dare.

The media jumps all over the story – the city’s new quarterback nabs a date with the bigshot star shortstop.

Not so fast – we’re just friends.

Until we hit the links for the strictly platonic date I won. Suddenly I'm looking at my silver-tongued, devilishly handsome best bud in a whole new light–and it’s dark and dirty.

We cross way over the friendship line at my place that night, but in the morning we agree it can’t happen again. Trouble is, we can’t keep our hands off each other, especially not when we’re stuck in the same hotel room at our friend’s wedding.

But Tanner wants a real relationship, and I’m only serious about football. So when my second season as a starter begins next week, our late-night games (and talks, and sleepovers, and morning coffees) will have to end.

Except, as the cutoff looms closer, I’m feeling a whole lot more than friendship and that’s a big problem for my career…

Don't miss this red-hot, friends-to-lovers, only-one-bed-in-the-room MM sports romance from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!
Two best friends. Players on and off the field. One is an established pro baseball shortstop. One is a quarterback just finding his place on his team. One is looking for long-term love. One can only handle casual and wants to focus on his sport. They are used to men just wanting to use them for their status. Throw in some bets, dares, and group camaraderie, and things will start to get a bit messy.

Tanner Sloan is a superstar and pro baseball player. He’s popular, easy-going, charming, and charitable. His best friend is football player Luke Remington, who is just now in a good place with a good team and getting to play at his best. He’s fun and a jokester, but he also is a bit more cautious about relationships or getting too close. They have a very, fun dynamic where they’re always daring and trying to one-up each other.  But they are also very supportive and there for each other if they need advice or help. So their friendship is very important to both of them.

These guys have been best friends for years, but never really looked close enough to realize there may be an underlying attraction between them. But now it’s like there’s been a spotlight put on that attraction that is hard to ignore. But they ultimately want different things. And they’re not willing to sacrifice their friendship. They’ve got other friends needling them and cheering them on. Now they are exploring some new activities together but know that it should only be a one-and-done to get it out of their systems. It really shouldn’t keep going on...but they seem to keep finding these little loopholes and running the razor-sharp line between friends and friends-with-benefits.

So now they’re both struggling with the fact that they care so much about their friendship and at the same time are enjoying what they’re doing, but they have completely different views on relationships. Tanner is looking for love and all that it entails despite being burned in the past and having trust issues. And Luke has some issues with fear of failure and doesn’t feel like he will be able to devote himself to a real relationship and thinks he needs to focus on football. They do struggle not because they don’t care but because they care too much, and circumstances make things challenging. But it’s the personal fears and insecurities that are the biggest threat. So it’s a hot mess of confusing feelings and tempting nights that they just can’t seem to stop, complicated by a close-knit shared friendship group  It's hard to figure out what to do about it all.

This is a fun, witty, hot and steamy, emotional, best-friends-to-lovers with two athletes.  I love these guys together. They are so much fun! They just have such great banter but also explosive chemistry along with a deep bond and intimacy. They also both really care about each other, their friends, and charity. They’re good men who treat people right and want to do the right thing. But they are so tempted and consumed by these new urges that their bodies are ruling their brains and their hearts are on the line even if they think they are trying to keep them safe. And circumstances seem to keep messing things up for them.

I had some big feelings during this one.
Oh, the angst, conflict, and disappointments were killing me. But there are so many sweet, fun, and hot moments too. I was really feeling everything with these guys.

But even when I was heartbroken, there are so many parts with levity, fun, camaraderie, goofiness, and just good positive role models of M/M relationships in their friend group that made me smile. I  appreciated that they were so focused and enjoyed their careers even if sometimes that did also cause issues. But at the core of the story is just these incredible friendships, and this particular one that blossoms into more than they ever expected. It’s just not easy, figuring out how to navigate all the working parts. But I was rooting for these two all the way, and I always felt like they were perfect for each other.

The first rule of being an attorney is don’t sleep with your clients.

The second rule is–see the first rule.

Those guidelines don’t account for a man like Zane Archer though. The major leaguer is all confidence and big D energy as he swaggers into my life one night at a hotel bar, determined to spend the night with “the sexy suit,” as he calls me.

I’m so damn tempted to say yes, especially when my new client devastates me with a scorching kiss that has me reconsidering all my life choices.

The catch? If I tear up the rule book, my reputation as a lawyer to the most bankable stars in pro sports is on the line. Including my new goal of striking the deal of a lifetime for him -- one he desperately needs to take care of his family.

Instead, I fight like hell to stay professional as I work closely with the man I can’t have.

But the more time we spend together, the more his irresistible charm threatens to break my resolve . . . right along with my heart.

TURN ME ON is a red-hot, MM, forbidden sports romance between a sports agent and an athlete…

WOW! These guys are hot stuff together. From the first moment they made eye contact, there was a spark and sizzle, but it quickly led to the knowledge that they cannot act on it. And now their careers are tied together.

Zane Archer is a professional baseball player for the SF Dragons. He is cocky, charismatic, flirty, and energetic. He is a team player and works hard, but also wants to plan for his future. He likes being in control and pushing boundaries.

Maddox LeGrande is a smart and savvy go-getter sports agent and lawyer that just joined the firm that represents Zane and is tasked with swinging deals and sponsorships for him. He is sharp-dressed and sharp-tongued. He is good under pressure and fixing problems. He can be flirty and snarky, but also has an ethical compass that gets in his way.

These two know they need to resist their attraction. They try. But they have runaway thoughts and runaway body responses. Temptation is real. The forbidden nature and repercussions could be bad. They drive each other crazy. They share fantasies and dirty talk. The sexual tension just builds and builds. They are perfectly compatible in and out of the bedroom in the most imperfect of situations.

At the core of this story is their undeniable connection, understanding, and trust that allows them to be vulnerable and also share and act on their desires. They also have to trust that the other has their best interest at heart, but the situation they are in could damage them both. But it is more than the physical but also an emotional attachment that they cannot seem to stop no matter how they try. Their careers have been their priorities, but now they are being distracted by a man neither can seem to forget.

I loved these guys. They are so likable and have such fun, flirty, and dirty banter. They challenge but also support each other. They both have certain preferences and needs,  but there are power exchanges and interesting dynamics. They are passionate and raw, but also intimate and protective. Their sexy scenes are intense and molten hot and just burn up the pages. They fit together so well in and out of the bedroom and are just what the other needs. But there are circumstances that seem hard to find a solution for without someone losing.

There are plenty of fun cameos from various parts of the LB universe and I love visiting with old friends while becoming intrigued by new ones.
Zane is a baseball player looking to expand his name recognition and help his brother raise his niece. He is protective of his family and friends, a solid all around guy. He is confident and smooth.

Maddox is the newest agent at his firm (which represents Zane) and is excited to work with new clients, inking deals to fit each individual athlete’s personal interests. He has a strong work ethic and does his best to find the perfect fit for each of his clients.

These two have immediate chemistry and though they know they quickly realize the need to tamp down any temptation, neither can help playing with fire for long. There is much at stake here, and though Maddox has a strong ethical compass when it comes to crossing lines with clients, there could be so much between them if given the chance.

I was rooting for these two from the moment they shared a page. They are both likable characters in their own rights, and together they were magical. The problem of Maddox representing Zane served as a large part of what kept them apart or from being public together, but I loved the way they both looked at the challenge.

Once again, LB has written 2 men who challenge each other and have to fight through some pretty serious obstacles to find their happiness together. These two were just a great fit that I couldn’t help but hold out hope that they would be able to find a solution that didn’t mean either would have to set aside the career that had each worked so hard to build and reach.

You’ve heard the story about the wedding planner who falls for the groom?
Well, this is the one where she falls for his father.
And that groom? He’s my ex.

I didn’t realize who the gruff, gorgeous older man was the night he rescued me from a creep in a Manhattan hotel bar. All I knew was that a hot, bearded stranger with a protective streak showed up right when I needed a reminder that real gentlemen still exist.

(Although he left his manners behind after asking me up to his room.)

It was the hottest night of my life, but I never thought I’d see the former Navy SEAL again.

Imagine my surprise at the rehearsal dinner one week later, when my sexy one-night stand is introduced as the father of the groom. Even more surprising? That temptation we felt in New York was no fluke.

In public, we pretend there’s nothing between us.

In private, we can’t keep our hands off each other.

The situation is beyond complicated. Zach never even knew he’d fathered a child until recently, and he wants to earn his son’s trust and respect. As for me, I’m looking for a man who wants to start a family, and Zach has made it clear he’s not that man. He’s fifteen years older, newly divorced, and he lives across the country.

But no matter how many times we draw the line, we keep crossing it.

Nothing so wrong should ever feel so right.

Millie and Zach meet in a bar, throw caution to the wind, and have one hot one-night-stand. They did not expect to keep thinking about it. And they certainly had no idea that they would meet again in the most unexpected way and that things were about to get really complicated.

They also find that the sexual tension, passion, and connection that they found that night hasn’t gone away. They know they shouldn’t talk anymore or see each other again. But the temptation is real. And they just keep enjoying each other when they can knowing that it cannot lead anywhere and that they need to keep messy feelings out of it.

These two are opposites. There’s an age gap and they live in different parts of the country. She has deep roots in her community and he travels. There are connections in their life that add a layer of complication and secrecy to the whole affair. But sometimes the body and the heart want what they want, and the head gets ignored.

I absolutely adored these two together. Millie is a curvy girl, who is confident, sexy, sassy, smart, and motivated to be the best she can be and also help others. Zach is a mature, burly, growly, protective, caring, alpha. He is ex-military and works in private security so is used to being in control and focused. But they completely distract each other and together they are just pure magic. Their chemistry is combustible and sets fire to the pages. It is intense and passionate and in addition to that, there’s this underlying friendship, companionship, trust, and vulnerability that they’ve never shared with someone else.
I loved that Millie is a plus sized-heroine with confidence and body positivity, and that Zach finds her totally sexy and entrancing. The man is insatiable!

This is an age-gap, small-town, one-night-stand-turns-into-secret-fling story with two people that have so many reasons that they should not be together. But they cannot seem to quit each other either. It is full of passionate stolen moments mixed with guilt and fear of being hurt. But eventually, they will have to figure out if they want to take a risk on love, compromise, and deal with the fallout that could occur.

It brings in some fun cameos for fans of Corrine Michaels and more of the Cloverleigh Farms gang. I enjoyed the crossovers and catching up with some other couples. I was pulled right into this story and totally devoured it. I loved everything about it. I completely fell for these two and they are one of my favorite couples from this author.

Keep reading for a look inside TEMPT!

I was just lifting the glass to my lips when I noticed someone sitting around the curve of the bar to the left. He was broad through the chest and shoulders, wore a black dress shirt with the cuffs rolled up, and sat alone. His hair and beard were short and dark. Our eyes met and my body grew warm. His bone structure was beautiful—his face looked like it was chiseled from granite. He held my gaze for a moment then looked away, and I did as well, focusing on the first cold sips of my martini.
But in seconds, my eyes were drawn to him again, and I noticed the hand holding his glass—wide palm, long, solid fingers, thick wrist. I indulged in a brief and magnificent fantasy that involved those hands in my hair, his beard against my cheek, that brawny chest bare and warm above me. Was it hairy? I’d bet yes. He looked like a man’s man. My nipples tingled inside the bustier I wore beneath my dress.
Once more he caught me staring, and I realized too late that I was actually biting my lip.
Gawd.
The guy next to me whistled loudly and yelled at the bartender, “Hey! Can I get another round down here?”
The bartender, who was busy making other drinks, didn’t even look over. I didn’t blame him.
“The service is so shitty in this place,” he said. “You need a pair of tits to get any attention.” He glanced at my chest. “Yours are fantastic, by the way.”
Horrified, I picked up my glass and finished my drink in a couple swallows. I should have thrown it in his face, but it would have been a waste of a good martini. Setting the empty glass down, I reached into my bag for my credit card.
“Hey, don’t rush off.” The asshole leaned closer. He wore a white shirt and blue blazer, and he reeked of cologne. “We’re just getting to know each other.”
“Not interested,” I said, trying to catch the bartender’s eye so I could get my check and leave.
“Why not? I’m alone, you’re alone.” He covered my hand with his. That’s when I noticed he wore a wedding band.
I snatched my hand away and slid off my stool, putting it between us. “I’m not alone.”
“Oh no?” He laughed and glanced around. “Looks like it to me.”
I finally caught the bartender’s eye, and he came right over. “Can I get you something?”
“I’ll cash out,” I said quickly.
The bartender glanced at the asshole. “Everything okay?”
“Everything’s fine, I was just waiting for someone, but he couldn’t make it, so I—”
“Sorry I’m late.” A hand circled my wrist.
Startled, I spun around and saw a black shirt. Wide shoulders. Dark eyes.
The hot stranger and I exchanged a look of understanding before he leaned in and kissed my cheek. His beard was softer than I’d imagined.
“Forgive me?” His voice, by contrast, was deep and gravelly.
“Of—of course,” I stammered, my heart pounding. I couldn’t stop staring—the guy was gorgeous. A little older than I’d thought—there was silver in his hair and beard—but those dark eyes, that deep voice, and the possessive grip on my wrist? The whole package made my knees go weak.
He looked over my head at the bartender. “She’s with me.”
“Dude, she’s not with you,” argued the jerk in the blazer. “You were over there by yourself a minute ago. I saw you.”
Dropping my wrist, the stranger turned to him and growled, “You should go.”
The jerk slid off his barstool and put one palm up. “Listen, I don’t want any trouble. I just thought—”
“It’s fuckin’ obvious what you thought.” The stranger’s words were laced with fury, but he kept his volume low. Somehow it was even scarier than if he’d yelled. “Now get the fuck out of here, and don’t even look in her direction as you walk out, or you’ll be trying to do it with two broken legs.”
The jerk stood up taller, like he might be thinking of protesting, but he looked like a gerbil facing off against a Doberman. Then he adjusted his lapels and moved toward the exit without even glancing my way.
The stranger watched him go with hooded, hawklike eyes before looking down at me again. “You okay?”
“Yes.” But I was struggling to catch my breath.
“Can I bring you two another round?” the bartender asked.
The stranger looked at me. “Would you like another drink?”
I took a breath, willing myself to be brave. “Only if you’ll stay and have one with me.”
He hesitated, rubbing one hand along his jaw. “Okay. Sure.”
“Another martini for the lady and a Glenlivet on the rocks, coming right up,” said the bartender.
I perched on my barstool again, crossing my legs. “Thanks for coming to my rescue.”
“You’re welcome.” He sat down next to me. “I hope I didn’t insult you.”
“Insult me?”
“I didn’t mean to imply you couldn’t handle that jackass on your own.”
“Oh! Well, maybe I could have.” I laughed a little. “But I liked your way better.”
One side of his mouth twitched, setting off a thousand butterflies in my stomach.
“This round is on me,” I said as our drinks appeared.
He shook his head. “Not a chance.”
“But I’d like to repay you for standing up for me.”
“No payment necessary. Any gentleman would have done it.”
“Gentleman, huh?” I tilted my head and gave him a playful smile. I was a pretty good flirt when I wanted to be. “So you’re saying I’m safe with you?”
He didn’t answer right away, and I sat up a little taller in my seat. Slightly arched my back. But his eyes stayed put on mine. “You’re safe with me.”
Well, damn.
What on earth was I going to do about that?
