Nellie Rivera is trading traffic for tranquility. When the quiet streets of small-town Montana beckon, she leaves Denver behind and moves to Calamity. It would be the perfect adventure if not for Cal Stark.

When her archnemesis dares to show his face one Saturday morning, declaring he is moving there too, she vows to make his life a misery. The town isn’t big enough for the both of them and besides . . .

She was here first.

Cal has been a thorn in her side since high school. He might have bullied her back then, but she’s not a modest teenager anymore and has learned a few plays of her own. If all goes to plan, she’ll run the former pro quarterback out of town within a month.

There’s only one problem. Cal has the same plan. He wants Calamity bad enough to pull out all the stops. And after one kiss, she realizes that he doesn’t play fair.

Nellie Rivera and Cal Stark are Pierce's best friends so they are relocating to Calamity, Montana...but unfortunately they hate each other and have been enemies since their teens.

Nellie was a scholarship kid who worked hard in school to prepare for a better future. She was intelligent, driven, and stubborn. But she was bullied in school and Cal was one of the prime offenders. And it gave her a set of insecurities she could never outrun, even now that she has an important job she loves and a good life.

Cal has never lived up to the pressure of his father his entire life. He was born with a silver spoon but worked to be a successful pro football player and was for a decade. Newly retired, he is not hurting for money, but now is kind of lost and needs a new purpose for his life. He is a broody loner who is trying to keep to himself but cannot seem to stop his obsession with her.

They are antagonistic opponents always ready to put the other down, engage in payback, or pull a prank. But there is a ton of sexual tension and chemistry and a bit more going on.

There is anger, pain, guilt, regrets, secrets, lies, misunderstandings, and unclear motivations woven into their history. But as Cal finds a vehicle to crack into Nellie's old feelings, he realizes more and more how his words and actions have hurt her. I honestly felt terrible for Cal because he is this guy with a front that he does not need anyone but he really just needs to be accepted, understood, and loved. He is so afraid of rejection that it is hard to put himself out there. And Nellie is so fiery, sassy, and afraid of being hurt or made a fool of that it is easier to strike out or push him away. They have a serious case of fight or flight.

This is a snarky, witty, emotional, sexy, enemies-to-lovers, small-town forced proximity story swirling with hate, lust, love, and redemption. It's push and pull, anger and tears, pain and pleasure, despair and hope, hate and forgiveness all mixed up. But the one thing they are pretty consistent on is that they are kind of obsessed with each other and share a best friend, so eventually they will have to find a way to live in close proximity and not tear each other down constantly.  But letting down guards can be an even scarier prospect.

Cal really got to me. I just loved him. The way he treasured certain things showed how deeply he cared and regretted even when he was afraid to talk about it. It just broke my heart. He really was this broken, lonely, lost boy that was dealing with regrets and needed someone to say he was finally good enough. And Nellie could be both strong and weak around him. But I loved how their story played out.

I enjoyed visiting with old Calamity friends and I cannot wait for Larke's book next.
Nellie Rivera is hoping for some peace as she moves to Calamity, Montana to help open a new office for work. She has worked for her friend, Pierce, since just after college and she feels like his family is her family now. What she didn’t expect was for Pierce’s best guy friend to move to Calamity at the same time. Cal is her nemesis and has been since high school.

Cal Stark is looking to be out of the spotlight now that his NFL career is over. Moving to be near his best friend just makes sense, especially since he avoids his actual family as much as possible.

These two have a lot of bad blood between them. Their high school selves hated each other and they have held on to those feelings without really examining the motivation behind them. When Cal finds a way into her high school self’s thoughts, it becomes a portal that has him considering their combined actions from both sides for the first time. I loved the way these flashbacks combined Nellie’s thoughts with Cal’s memories in a way that readers could see both sides at the same time.

In the present, Cal and Nellie continue to battle (both each other and the chemistry that builds between them whenever they are together) as they determine if Calamity is big enough for the both of them.

I love each return to this small town, and the cast of characters always entertains. Harry, Cal’s neighbor, claws her way into his daily routine and serves up some gems of truth at the perfect moments.

For Lola Jennings, Valentine’s Day means a good book and an extra-large glass of wine. So when she finds herself standing in the middle of an enormous barn, bouncing between drunken cowboys and avoiding beer spills, she’s certain that Cupid has sent her into the fiery pits of hell.

She’s ready to put the Solo cup down and return home when a line of men takes the stage for the main event—the Wrangler Butt Contest. Ten men twirl and twerk and taunt the crowd with their Wrangler-clad butts in hopes of being crowned king. There’s no denying the devilishly handsome man who performs last has some very fine . . . assets.

So when she trips and falls into Aiden Archer’s arms later that night, she knows her trip to Calamity, Montana, is about to get interesting. And if Aiden has his way, it’s going to last a lot longer than one night.

Duke Evans didn’t expect to interrupt a beautiful woman in a staring contest with a bison on his favorite hiking trail. He also didn’t expect to see her again after rescuing her from the surly beast. As the sheriff in Calamity, Montana, he’s had his fair share of surprises but none as pleasant as pulling over a shiny black car and finding his mysterious hiking companion behind the wheel.

Only, she lied to Duke. She gave him a name as fake as her hair color. According to her driver’s license, her real name is Lucy Ross, the famous country music singer whose sudden disappearance has been a hot topic in the media over the past two weeks.

He’s not sure why Lucy lied about her identity or why she’s in Calamity. And she’s not talking. Instead, she offers him a bribe to keep her secret.

But Duke doesn’t want her money. He wants to know why this woman is on the run. And as long as the star shines on his badge, he’s going to find out.

As Calamity’s newest resident, Everly Christian thought life in small-town Montana would be dull and tame—and she needs a little mundane after the last few chaotic years. But one night, boredom drives her to the local bar, where she finds herself sitting beside a handsome and mysterious artist.

The man is anything but dull and tame, especially in the bedroom, and when she steps out of his shower and overhears his conversation, life gets interesting again.

Reese Huxley needs a wife.

And why shouldn’t Everly be the bride?

She’s got her reasons for agreeing to the hasty nuptials—reasons she’s keeping to herself. As long as she can stop herself from falling in love with her husband, she’ll make it out of this sham marriage in one piece. But Everly has a weakness for wayward men, and the more Hux pushes her away, the more she realizes this bluff is anything but a lie.
