Luna Winchester’s life is firmly entrenched in the coastal town of Huckleberry Bay, Oregon. A fourth-generation lightkeeper, Luna is carrying on the Winchester tradition by tending to the lighthouse. Plus, she’s decided to renovate a long-abandoned building on the property and make it a B&B, Luna’s Light. Surrounded by family and her two childhood best friends, her life is full.

Wolfe Conrad is in hiding, and he’s come to Huckleberry Bay to heal. A career-ending accident on the track nearly took his life, and now he seeks refuge to try and build a new one. He is a bit lost and angry. The quaint town’s slow pace rattles the man whose first love is fast cars—and then there’s the beautiful innkeeper, who rattles him in different ways.

Falling in love with Luna definitely isn’t part of Wolfe’s plan. Local legends that tell of unrequited love and despair? Unbelievable. But stranger things have happened, like two strangers falling in love…

This is a beginning of a brand new small-town, seaside series. Wolfe Conrad came home for one reason, but is now staying due to a big change in his circumstances. He is trying to heal and find a new normal and a new career path after his racing career suddenly ended. He is a bit lost, angry, and frustrated.

Luna Winchester is a Huckleberry Bay lifer. And she is continuing to take care of the lighthouse like others in her family while also working on building up the property with a new project as well. She is his friend's sister and his childhood friend, but he is now seeing her in a whole new light.

Wolfe is such a charming, caring, generous man who is dealing with some issues but trying to make the best of it. Luna is bright, sassy, smart, and a bit compulsive and an overthinker. But together they are adorable, but also have amazing chemistry and a connection.

As they work on building projects, their attraction sparks as adults and it's a fairly fast fall. They are rebuilding their lives and futures while navigating a few setbacks. There is also a bit of past mystery and maybe a bit of spiritual assistance.

This is a sweet, sexy, coming home, best friend's-sister, small-town romance about life changes and new beginnings. There is a little drama mixed in. I like their group of friends, Sarah, June, Apollo, Tanner, and Zeke, and the interesting members of the town. The history between the characters and the quirky close-knit community adds to the framework for the story. I am looking forward to the other stories that were teased a bit in this one.

Luna has lived in Huckleberry Bay for most of her life, returning after college to run the lighthouse that her family has managed for generations. Her plans involve renovating the old outbuildings and turning the barn into a B&B to draw tourists to her small hometown.

Wolfe Conrad is back in her childhood home trying to figure out his next steps after an accident ended his racing career. He has a few ideas for his next steps, but he is plagued by setbacks from his accident.

Working together, their friendship blossoms into more. There is an element of the feelings between them having always been “a thing,” but their shift from friends to lovers happened quite swiftly in the present with only a few diary-entry flashbacks to build any kind of past bond. But it also felt real and I loved the way they support each other’s dreams and needs throughout the story.

Speaking of diaries, there are some interesting threads to the past in the form of a diary from one of the previous women who lived at the lighthouse, and her spirit is still around. Rose’s influence adds a slightly paranormal aspect, but her presence is not major. (For what it's worth I love the slight touch of ghostly activity!)

This book hit my Kindle at the perfect time. It was light, refreshing, and fun from start to finish.

As the first in a new series from the author, this was a great small town introduction. There is plenty of focus on the main couple, but the town and neighbors are introduced in a way that makes me want to return to Huckleberry Bay for more of the stories of Luna’s friends. The mix of personalities and backstories that are teased promise to make this series one that brings the entertainment each time.
