Release Blitz: Unwanted: Marley Valentine
Unwanted
Two halves of a whole, Arlo Bishop and I were both unwanted kids brought together by the foster system. Dealing with the aftermath of neglect and abandonment, we grew up side by side and found solace in one another.
We wanted.
We needed.
We loved.
Desperately.
But somewhere along the way, Arlo wanted and needed and loved drugs more. So, I did the only thing I could and broke my own heart to save his.
Now, four years later, I’m back in L.A. and face-to-face with my past. Not only does the pain and hurt of our mistakes linger between us but so do our feelings.
I didn’t plan on a second chance—fear of history repeating itself making it hard to forgive and even harder to forget. But with only one touch, one kiss, I was taken back to where it all started.
Two halves of a whole, Arlo and I were made for each other. But we were no longer the unwanted foster kids.
We were grown men.
Holy moly! These guys. This story. This found family. All. The. Freaking. Feels!
This is the first in the series about a group of foster siblings that made their own found family. But due to circumstances things changed a few years ago.
Frankie and Arlo were everything to each other as young men, as best friends and first loves. Arlo struggled with demons and Frankie had to let him go for both of their own good. Frankie left LA for Seattle and effectively left his siblings behind. Four years later Frankie has to go back and that also means dealing with the guilt and repercussions, and facing them all again… including Arlo.
Frankie left and never looked back as far as they’re concerned, but he had his reasons for doing what he did. But will any of them want to hear them? And on top of his addiction, Arlo already had abandonment and trust issues, so being left behind scarred him and made him even more guarded, jaded, and self-loathing. He is seriously a broken boy turned broken man, but he has also worked hard to be better.
The sexual tension(and just the tension in general) between these two is crazy. They are both so full of hurt, unresolved feelings, anger, guilt, and love that they could never really get over and give to anyone else. The looks. The touches. The electricity. The longing. The emotions are just swirling to the surface of these two. They held me captive anytime they were interacting. The passion and need were as strong as their emotional baggage. But there are plenty of barriers to break down in order to purge themselves of their feelings both past and present.
And their little group is back together but dealing with new challenges. It’s both comfortable and uncomfortable for Frankie at the same time. But there is a bond between these people that can’t be broken. It certainly has been bent, but distance and time could not seem to erase it. I loved these characters. My heart hurt so much for Frankie and Arlo. They had years of mistakes, misunderstandings, misperceptions, guilt, anger, and regret to wade through. I loved how the group rallied around each other and how they embraced another lost soul. It shows that family can be made and it doesn’t have to be blood. It’s those people that you know will always be there for you when you need them. And sometimes there are real challenges, but if you just hold hands and take one day at a time you can get through it if you’re together.

This is an emotional, passionate, intense, friends-to-lovers, second-chance, hurt-comfort, M/M romance. I just wish it had been a bit longer and had a little more time for their romantic growth in the present. I can’t wait for the rest of the stories especially the M/M/M one that was teased in this one. Like I want it now! Each of these individuals piqued my interest. They are all very different, but each of them has their role in their family and their own issues to deal with.
