Is there an easy way to tell your lifelong best friend that you secretly married his brother eight years ago? Asking for a friend…

When Gates shows up needing a place to crash, I offer him my spare room. Whatever happened between us nearly two decades ago is water under the bridge. I don’t lie awake at night wondering what could have been. Nope, definitely not.

But Gates seems determined to get a rise out of me. He’s tie-dyed all my clothes, removed my bedroom door, and replaced my hand soap with lube. I’m not sure if he’s hoping I’ll kick him out or kill him, but he won’t break me that easily.

When he tells me his Stroker Rod is broken… What kind of mechanic am I if I don’t get hands-on with his problem?

We put our feelings behind us a long time ago, and there’s no way I’ll let Gates break my heart again. No amount of fiddling under the hood will fix everything broken between us. From here on out, it’s purely physical. Right?

Yup, just a couple of guys and their stroker rods.

***Stroker is a best friend’s brother, secretly married, super steamy MM romance.

Tallahassee: mechanic, romantic, and secretly and hopelessly in love with his best friend's little brother and has the scars to prove it.

Gates.: an impulsive, reckless, nomadic, prankster that has never felt good enough. And now he has even more reason to be concerned that he does not deserve love.

Now years later, Gates is crashing at Tallahassee's place and doing anything he can to get his attention good or bad. He wants to change. He wants to feel settled. But his reputation is that he is impulsive and a runner so everyone expects him to leave...including Tallahassee and his brother, Steele.

I was touched by Gates' sweet personality, earnestness, and insecurities. He knows he has issues and struggles but wants to be a better man and for everyone to believe that. And Tallahassee is solid, dependable, and protective, but he is also terrified that he will be left devastated in Gate's wake.

They have hurt each other even when they cared and have not really dealt with their past. They are just kind of cohabitating and getting under each other's skin and unsure how to fix what is broken. It's time to figure out what they need and what they want to do in the present and future. But they also have to deal with their pain and secrets from the past while also building trust and confidence.

This is a sweet, funny, hot, secret, best friend's brother, enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance. I really liked them together, and sometimes they had me laughing and other times swooning. The parts where they let down their guards and were just real and vulnerable were really touching. And their chemistry was on point.

It brings back the Big Bull Mechanics guys and adds a couple more. I am enjoying this series and am intrigued by some of the others. And there was a little snippet of another group that piqued my attention as well. And there is another wild and crazy pet in this one that steals the show.

Kim's review

I don’t have time for a relationship, not even with the adorably dorky vet I can’t seem to stop bumping into… *sigh * pass the oil and lube

Between running a garage full of beefed up, gear head mechanics and bailing my idiot brother out of trouble every other week, the last thing I have time for is a relationship.

I’ve tried it too many times, and the ridiculous reasons I always find to end it have become a running joke around the garage. But I’ve learned my lesson. No. More. Boyfriends.

I don’t care how many times Porter falls asleep drunk in my bed or how cute he looks covered in oil smears while I teach him how to fix up the vintage car he has rusting away in his garage, I’m not going to fall for him.

Even if I did, what do a mechanic and a veterinarian have in common anyway?

It’s better if we’re only friends… friends who occasionally fiddle with each other’s crankshafts…

Author K.M.Neuhold is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, MF romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book she was completely hooked on everything about lovely- and sometimes damaged- men finding their Happily Ever After together. She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul, and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series. When she’s not writing she’s a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero…just kidding, she’s likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky while her amazing husband brings her coffee.
