Riley Meadows has come home to Vermont since his Grandfather needs him even if he is not sure exactly why. He left eight years ago after an incident with his best friend and first love and has not been back. But now the object of the guilt he has felt is also back in town.

Peter Landry went to law school and did what he intended. But he is now home...at least temporarily until he figures out what he really wants to do. But he is still hurt and a bit angry over events from the past. 

But when these two are reunited you can just feel the tether and bond and so many unresolved feelings.

This is a sweet, heartfelt, story of first love, coming home, found-family, and second chances. I really liked these guys together and how they balanced each other out and knew each other's personalities so well. But there was also this tenderness and vulnerability between them and fear of loss again. There was a bit of magic in the old park and the memories they had there. The side characters added to the depth of the story and the plot itself was unique.
