How to behave when the guy who broke your heart two thousand miles away turns up in your office:

One: Don’t drop your lucky coffee cup in shock, even though it’s been ten years.

Two: Don’t get defensive when he asks how you ended up working his family’s ski mountain… and why you kept it a secret.

Three: Give him the worst room in the resort. He deserves it for suddenly waltzing back in like he owns the place. (Which he kind of does.)

Four, five, six, seven, eight and nine: Do not kiss him in the hot tub.

Ten: Try to keep your heart intact after you break all of your rules.

Because Reed is leaving again. Hate can't turn back into love. And it’s a little too late…

Reed Madigan is returning home to the ski resort in Colorado where he grew up in a loving family and trained until loss destroyed it all. A decade later, he is bitter and emotionally unavailable and is just going to help his estranged father manage the sale of the property and put it behind them all.

The last person he expected to see at the front desk was his college girlfriend especially since their college was not in the area. But Ava Aichers was the girl that got away...mostly because he left her when she needed him. She is also still hurt, angry, resentful, and does not want to spend any more time in his presence than necessary. She has made a good life for herself and has plans to be promoted during this transaction.

But Reed starts poking around the resort, the deal, and her life. And suddenly he is everywhere and threatening her restraint, her sanity, and her planned future. Is it too late to make amends, seek forgiveness, heal relationships, and think of a future?

This is a coming home, first love, second chance story with a bit of mystery and a bunch of complications. Ava loves her life in Colorado and he is a businessman in California. And they have a whole suitcase of baggage between them.

I enjoyed the ski resort setting. It also tells us a bit about his younger brothers, Weston and Crew, and her friends, Callie, Raven, and Halley. His assistant, Shiela is also a firecracker. I am looking forward to the next two books about his brothers who seem as bitter about their history as he was. But I am a sucker for grumpy guys getting tamed by strong women.

Reed Madigan is returning home to the ski mountain his family runs for the first time in 10 years. He has a troubled relationship with his father and has avoided home as a way to cope. In fact, none of his brothers have spent much time on Madigan Mountain in the last decade either. But helping his father sell the mountain might be just what he needs to close that chapter in his life.

Ava Aichers has been working at Madigan Mountain since she finished college. Her goal wasn’t to stay close to Reed, who had broken her heart, but the mountain became her home when she needed one.

These two are first loves who didn’t quite make it the first time around. Reed had no idea Ava had been working for his father all these years, and after the initial shock, he quickly remembers the feelings that once burned between them. I loved watching as Reed works to break down Ava’s walls and Ava makes him work for it. But the years apart have changed each of them and the things that sent them in different directions after college need to be discussed in order for each to be able to move on fully.

This is a fun small town, second chance story with a lot going on around the main couple. I loved meeting all the new characters - Reed’s brothers, as well as other mountain employees and townspeople. Because it’s a Sarina book, there is also a tie-in to her worlds in Vermont and I loved the way it tied this Colorado setting to her other settings. This is the first book in the Madigan Mountain trio and I am looking forward to learning more about each brother in turn.

The audio version of this book is well narrated. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are a favorite narrating pair that always delight.

From USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Yarros comes a small town, single parent romance.

Nine years ago, Weston Madigan saved me. I came to Colorado penniless, heartbroken, and pregnant, searching for a fresh start. Weston gave me a job at his family’s resort, then left the next day and never returned, not even to visit.

Then I stumble in on Weston cooking breakfast shirtless—gloriously, inappropriately shirtless—in the shared kitchen of my duplex in employee housing. Given the shock on both our faces, he wasn’t expecting a roommate either, let alone two.

The growly pilot is only home to start his family’s new heli-skiing operation. I can handle being his temporary roommate, right? Chemistry and attraction aren’t impossible to ignore when you agree on ground rules. Besides, even with those gorgeous, brooding brown eyes, the guy is a walking thundercloud…until my daughter, Sutton, makes him laugh and he smiles at me. Then everything changes. Cue inconvenient heart flip.

This is only temporary.
I can’t fall for Weston.
I. Will. Not. Fall. For. Weston.
But rules go out the window when you’re a little too close.

A Little Too Wild

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry comes a small town, sports romance.

Crew Madigan is a snowboarding legend. He’s gorgeous, rich, famous and every woman’s dream. Well, except mine. I’ll take a nerdy guy with a clumsy streak who wouldn’t know what to do with a pair of skis to save his life. Superstar athletes? No, thanks. World champions? Hard pass. Crew? Definitely not.

It’s been over a decade since Crew set foot on Madigan Mountain. Instead of sitting with his family during his brother’s wedding, he takes the chair beside mine. ESPN really doesn’t do that chiseled jaw justice. The cameras miss the flecks of gold in his eyes. When he invites me to his hotel room after the wedding, I break all of my own rules for just one night.

But here’s the problem with just one night. Crew is impossible to forget. And he’s not the only one who loves a thrill. The crash, the broken bones, are inevitable. Because together, we’re a little too wild.
