Meet me… in the place where the sun kisses the horizon and sinks into blue shades of you and me.

Meet me there… where everything was always perfect. You and me and the damp grass at dawn and the gray dirt in the late evening rain.

Meet me where we were ourselves and not these two people who can’t even say I love you.

Meet me there and maybe we’ll remember…

We’ll remember the us we were before them, before miles, before lost hours, and you’ll ask what color the sky is, and I’ll say blue like your eyes.

And you’ll smile, and I’ll forget I ever missed you.

Luka and Rook have been best friends since they were nine years old.

Five years ago, Luka threw it all away.

When his dad’s health takes a turn for the worst, Luka must come home to say his goodbyes and mend the bridges he burned all those years ago. But coming home is harder than he imagined, and after reuniting with his family, there’s only one person he needs.

Rook…

His best friend.

The one man he pushed away, the one man, no matter how hard he tried to forget, he can't stop himself from loving.

Even if loving him means breaking his heart all over again.

MEET ME IN THE BLUE is a stand-alone, best friends to lovers, second chance, demi-awakening, M/M romance, with a whole lot of small-town heart, meddling moms, gossiping townies, self-discovery, a friendship forged of forts, Dungeons and Dragons, and a love that will stand the test of time.
Meet Me In The Blue is a captivating, emotional, childhood best friends-to-lovers, demi-awakening, soulmates, small town, coming home story. It pulled me in from the very beginning and I did not want to put it down. Told with flashbacks and present time we see Luka and Rook connect from their first meeting and get to see snapshots of their lives.

Luka moved to Hemlock Harbor as an unhappy nine-year-old and became fast friends with the son of his dad's business partner. Rook was always more of a nerd and loner, and they became loners together. Their friendship was special but as they matured things became more complicated and some things were never said. And the older they got, the more they drifted apart and began to lead separate lives until years went by.

But Luka is now home again as a thirty-two-year-old man dealing with a sad family situation and embarrassed by his own failures in his life. He knows he pushed his friend away even if it was for self-preservation. He never wanted to disappoint anyone and feels unworthy.

Rook has deep roots in Hemlock Harbor, a career, and friends. But he also has had a void in his life he never could seem to fill. He is hurt and a bit angry, but is also good, loyal, kind, and forgiving. He has never really understood his feelings or sexuality so he has his own set of fears and insecurities.

But these two have such a soul-deep connection that you can feel it bleeding off the pages of the book. The looks, the touches, and the invisible strings pulling them together are apparent. And as they finally begin to communicate and be vulnerable in order to explain the things unsaid, it is beautiful to see the walls coming down between them. And for them to be able to truly see and feel for the first time what they have always been to each other, and getting a chance to explore just how much more they could be.

The whole theme and vivid imagery of Meet Me In The Blue hold such meaning. The flashbacks only enriched their story and the depth of their connection and are the building blocks to their present relationship. I loved seeing them both grow and learn about themselves and each other along the way.

This is a heartfelt, tender, hurt/comfort story about home, family, history, and deep bonds. Luka and Rook are just like two halves of a whole that did not survive well apart and fit back together perfectly. I loved their interwoven families. I am also intrigued by their friends Ron, Carter, Will, Travis, Ryan, Zach, and also the hockey players, Reese, and Bryson. There is a lot of potential for future stories. I cannot wait for Ron's since we met him in The Glow Up
