Lexi McIntyre has two things she really wants: to inherit her family's beloved ski resort Snowberry and chase down her elusive O. She is trying to talk her grandmother into letting her take it over, but not only is Gran determined to sell, but she also just told Lexi that even if she did not,  Lexi's single status takes her out of consideration. She is a bit emotional and sometimes it clouds her judgment and she can be sassy and stubborn.  

Devlin Buckley is in town visiting his family but also working on a big real estate deal. He is flirty, persuasive, and used to charming the pants off people. And he kind of does that to Lexi...before he realizes that they are on opposite sides of a negotiation. He is also logical, analytical, determined, goal-oriented, work-focused, and is not ruled by emotions. 

But they manage to negotiate a deal and terms they both can live with...it is just not what was originally expected and surprises everyone. But they both get something they want out of it and even some added benefits. And they feel like their terms are clearly laid out and they expect no complications and that it will easily terminate with a time limit. Both have abandonment and trust issues. But they have hot chemistry and balanced each other well.

This is a witty, steamy, swoony, one-night stand, turned enemies to lovers, marriage-of-convenience forced proximity, small-town romance. Both of these people have been unlucky in love in the past and were not really looking or expecting to find it.  Sometimes terms and rules seem good on paper, but when you throw in expectations, emotions, thoughts, and people, things can get a bit messy. But it is the unexpected things in life that can really make it more interesting.
