As strange as it sounds, Xaviaro seems to want to help me more than he wants to hurt me. I can’t shake the man no matter what I do. Threatening him feels like foreplay, tying him up only turns him on… I could play nice, but that’s never been my strong suit.
I’d be lying if I said he wasn’t starting to grow on me, especially when he calls me his Deadly Little Sparrow from his knees. I’ve never met a man who could handle me, let alone one who can’t stop begging me for more.
A pint-size agent of chaos and violence walks into a bar with his own agenda. He has swagger, confidence, and a sense of indestructibility because he has already faced the worst pain. He is used to getting what he wants and likes to control things.
It was merely an accident that he ended up in a skirmish that injured a mafia goon who works for one of the biggest crime families. He really didn’t mean to catch their attention, he was just looking for answers. And he certainly did not expect to catch the eye of Xaviaro Saviano, trigger man for the Moretti crime family in any way.
Xaviaro is entranced by the deadly little bird the minute he sees him which is a change for him since he has just been feeling numb and unsatisfied. The fact that Sparrow could hold his own and seems to take control just makes his reaction stronger. Sometimes Xaviaro just wants somebody to take care of him and help him let go.
I'm not always a fan of mafia books but this one was outlandish and fun mixed with violence and extreme emotions and it kept me entertained. Revenge, stalkery behavior, lust, obsession, collaboration, control, shared kink—it’s all mixed up together. These two are hot, combustible, dirty, kinky, and well-matched despite their opposite outward appearances. Their darkness and their bedroom proclivities speak to each other. I loved the Murder Marshmallow and his Deady Little Sparrow.
The side characters add depth and more drama to the story. I am looking forward to more in the series with some of the other mafia guys.

Author K.M.Neuhold is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, MF romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book she was completely hooked on everything about lovely- and sometimes damaged- men finding their Happily Ever After together. She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul, and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series. When she’s not writing she’s a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero…just kidding, she’s likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky while her amazing husband brings her coffee.
