One kiss changed everything.

As sheriff, I’m the guy people call for help.
But when my solo Hawaii trip gets hijacked by my clingy ex, suddenly I’m the one who needs saving.
My unlikely rescuer?

A gorgeous stranger who plants one breathtaking, reckless kiss on me in the middle of a crowded bar—sending my ex packing… and stealing my carefully guarded heart.

Tommy Marian kissed me like he knew me.
Like he wanted me.
Like I was his.
Like he was mine.

But he’s not.

He’s a straight, ambitious city doctor—here in paradise for his own damn wedding.
And I’m going home alone, as usual.

Six months later, I land a dream search and rescue gig in Legacy, Montana.
One summer. A break from my coupled-up friends. Zero distractions.

Except guess who’s freshly single… and bunking in my tiny cabin? The biggest distraction of my life.

Tommy Marian is still beautiful, still infuriating, and still everything I can’t want.
He says what happens in Legacy stays in Legacy.
I say I’m not even tempted.
At least one of us is lying.

Because when Tommy disappears on the mountain, I realize I’d burn the world to get him back…
And maybe this time, I won’t let him go.

Oh boy, talk about chemistry, insta lust, and moments that change these two men’s lives. Some small and a couple big moments in Hawaii completely messed with these two guys' minds. For both, it was a catalyst for change. For one it was a complete reimagining of who he thought he was and what he wanted in life.

Foster Blake  is a Sheriff from Majestic, Wyoming. He is kind, loyal, dependable, but guarded and untrusting of love. Tommy Marian is an ER physician from New York. He is smart, capable, goal- oriented, and good at crisis management. He just got out of a long-term relationship and is discovering new things about himself.

Somehow, after months of not being able to forget, they find themselves in a completely different location together. But there are layers of miscommunication, mistrust, and misconceptions that they will have to wade through to even begin to start over. Their chemistry is impossible to deny, and the reactions to each other are very strong, but circumstances, fears, and trust issues set boundaries that it could only ever be a fling if anything at all.

I loved the little teases of possible kismet or fate woven into their story. I have been so excited about Foster's book ever since the Majestic series, and I was not disappointed. It’s really fun that the author tied in as a new legacy series to the Marian series.

I adored these two together. They first seem like opposites, but they do have unique common interests, and this strong connection and chemistry. I loved the setting of this one too, and how it challenges them in various ways.  Their story kept me invested throughout, and I couldn’t imagine a better match-up than these two.

This is a funny, sweet, passionate, swoony, soulmates, opposites-attract story with interesting backdrops, and two men who have been in transitions and are still figuring everything out.

It's about an instantaneous connection, trust, hope, healing, and overcoming fears in order to make the best life choices for themselves. They both have to take a look at their careers, families, and their homes, and figure out what will give them the most fulfillment in life, even if it isn’t what they initially had planned.

But I enjoyed seeing these two take on challenges and push themselves to think outside the box. They rescue each other in little and big ways throughout the story. This brings back a bunch of quirky side characters from the Marians and from the Majestic series. They’re nosy, intrusive, and at times overwhelming, but they add fun shenanigans to the story. Great Aunt Tilly is really still trying to run all the men in the family and doing a pretty good job of it. I am looking forward to the next book, and it’s already been teased a little bit.

After enjoying creative writing as a child, Lucy didn’t write her first novel until she was over 40 years old. Her debut novel, Borrowing Blue, was published in the autumn of 2016. Lucy has an English Literature degree from Vanderbilt University, but that doesn’t hold a candle to the years and years of staying up all night reading tantalizing novels on her own. She has three children, plays tennis, and hates folding laundry. While her husband is no shmoopy romance hero, he is very good at math, cooks a mean lasagne, has gorgeous eyes, looks hot in his business clothes, and makes her laugh every single day.

Lucy hopes you enjoy sexy heroes as much as she does. Happy reading!
