Review Tour: Burning for Alexander: Lucy Lennox
I came to Legacy for a fresh start—to outrun my past and forget the anonymous man I fell for online.
But now all I see is Alex Marian.
The bane of my existence. Firebug. Reckless bar owner. Walking disaster.
It doesn’t matter that he’s the sexiest man alive. Or charming. Or kind.
He’s entitled, spoiled, rich, naive—everything I hate.
He’s also young and untouched—not that it’s any of my business.
The townspeople say he’s the sunshine to my grump.
What they don’t know is that worrying about him keeps me up at night.
He's the match, and I'm the gasoline—and the way he looks at me says he knows exactly what kind of fire we'd make together.
I have been so excited about Alex Marian and the new Fire Chief since we have been teased in other recent books, and these two did not disappoint. Their story actually had so many more layers and emotional depth than I expected.
Alex Marian left California and is now one of the many Marian offspring in Legacy, Montana and he followed his dream to open a wine bar and restaurant there. He has seen so many love matches in his family, but he lost the only man he ever let himself feel something for, and he lacks experience in any kind of real relationships.
Alex and the new Fire Chief, Judd Kincaid get off to a bad start that spirals out of control. He is a grumpy, by-the-book, overzealous, rule-follower, and he is spending a lot of time inspecting Alex's business and Alex himself. He both wants him and wants to strangle him at the same time. But Judd has also experienced loss and is not looking for a relationship.
They smolder, spark, and are fiery together. There is a thin line between hate, lust, and love, and they are on the edge. There are misconceptions, misunderstandings, and even parts of their stories that they do not truly understand fully. I loved how the story is woven together, and it really gives it a feeling of fate.
This is a feisty, snarky, fiery, emotional, grumpy-sunshine, opposites-attract, enemies-to-lovers, age-gap, hurt-comfort, firebug-Fire Chief, small-town romance with plenty of interesting and meddling side characters and a more complex and layered storyline than I was expecting. I loved how it all came together, and I adored these two guys together. They have such complicated emotions, and their chemistry is volatile. But they also worry and are protective of each other. Sometimes things just get a bit lost in translation. Their connection is strong, but it also gets bent and broken along the way. Their story had me emotionally invested all along, but there is also enough sarcasm, fun, and spice to lighten it up.
I am excited about more in this series and the tease about the most promiscuous young Marian, Jett next.

One kiss changed everything.
As sheriff, I’m the guy people call for help.
But when my solo Hawaii trip gets hijacked by my clingy ex, suddenly I’m the one who needs saving.
My unlikely rescuer?
A gorgeous stranger who plants one breathtaking, reckless kiss on me in the middle of a crowded bar—sending my ex packing… and stealing my carefully guarded heart.
Tommy Marian kissed me like he knew me.
Like he wanted me.
Like I was his.
Like he was mine.
But he’s not.
He’s a straight, ambitious city doctor—here in paradise for his own damn wedding.
And I’m going home alone, as usual.
Six months later, I land a dream search and rescue gig in Legacy, Montana.
One summer. A break from my coupled-up friends. Zero distractions.
Except guess who’s freshly single… and bunking in my tiny cabin? The biggest distraction of my life.
Tommy Marian is still beautiful, still infuriating, and still everything I can’t want.
He says what happens in Legacy stays in Legacy.
I say I’m not even tempted.
At least one of us is lying.
Because when Tommy disappears on the mountain, I realize I’d burn the world to get him back…
And maybe this time, I won’t let him go.
Owning Jett
Maid Marian Legacy #3
2026
The lap dance was supposed to be a cover, not an invitation. But when a powerful—and irresistible—billionaire becomes obsessed with him, Jett Marian can’t resist his indecent proposal: pretend to be the man’s assistant by day and his bedmate by night during a gathering of the world’s most powerful men.
Two weeks. One villa. A dangerous game of seduction and lies.
Also see more with Alex and Judd in the holiday story...

I came to Legacy, Montana, to sell a fantasy—twelve Insta-ready #Holidates of Christmas. One career-making brand deal. Zero drama.
Then my videographer bailed, and in walked Maddox Sullivan.
Grumpy. Gorgeous. Growly. A mountain man with zero chill and even less tolerance for influencers like me. He agrees to film my content—off-camera only—but when my first date cancels, guess who ends up in front of the lens?
Cue the fireworks.
Our chemistry is instant. My followers are obsessed. #TeamMaddrian starts trending. Suddenly, all my dates are mysteriously dropping out, and Maddox is reluctantly starring in every single holidate—sleigh rides, snowball fights, cocoa by the fire, kisses under the mistletoe.
And I… I’m starting to forget this was ever supposed to be pretend.
Because every time Maddox looks at me, I feel something real. Something lasting. Something terrifying.
I came here for curated content. Now I’m dreaming of a life I never thought I wanted—with a man I never saw coming.
But am I falling for the picture-perfect holiday fantasy? Or could this be the start of my real-life happily ever after?

After enjoying creative writing as a child, Lucy didn’t write her first novel until she was over 40 years old. Her debut novel, Borrowing Blue, was published in the autumn of 2016. Lucy has an English Literature degree from Vanderbilt University, but that doesn’t hold a candle to the years and years of staying up all night reading tantalizing novels on her own. She has three children, plays tennis, and hates folding laundry. While her husband is no shmoopy romance hero, he is very good at math, cooks a mean lasagne, has gorgeous eyes, looks hot in his business clothes, and makes her laugh every single day.
Lucy hopes you enjoy sexy heroes as much as she does. Happy reading!
