MINA

Growing up in the tiny Bavarian town of Helen, Georgia, there is no escape from the hell that is Oktoberfest. Every year tourists descend on us from all over the country. Managing the town’s best German restaurant means drunken men love to ogle my boobs and legs in my alpine dress or grope my ass through the yards of fluffy fabric. Because of said men’s behavior, my sisters and I have a no fraternizing policy with the tourists. . But then a lost, little boy crosses my path, and his single father has me wanting to be a very bad girl….

GAVIN

As I neared hockey retirement, I never expected to be traded from the team I’d been with for a decade. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, my wife ditched not only me, but also our three-year-old son. To say I’m drowning is an understatement. Needing something to entertain my son, I let my teammates talk me into taking a trip with them to Oktoberfest. After being burned by my ex, I’m not looking for a new woman in my life. But one glance at the tall, stacked blonde in her alpine costume and every rational thought went out of my head.

Mina Hansen's day started at a high then took a turn. She and her sisters usually say no to flirting with tourists during Oktoberfest in their hometown, but this might be an emergency to improve her mood.

Gavin Mulvaney is a hockey player traveling to Helen with his son to see the parade and have some fun with his son, and is encouraged by his teammate to have some other fun on the side. He is a bit overwhelmed, trying to acclimate to being a single dad and getting settled. But it has been a while since he has seen any action off the ice.

In an unexpected moment, they meet, they spark, and they are very much attracted. They have both been off the dating market for a while but are both drawn to the newness and excitement of dates and spending time together. They are both so likable and have such good banter and chemistry.

It's an unexpected, opposites-attract, small-town, fall love story with a lot of heart and humor, and a woman in a dirndl with a cute dog and a goalie with an adorable little boy. It's novella length, and it's got a little nice, a bit of spice, and a whole lot of Bavarian sweetness. I really enjoyed the characters, and they had me smiling with their banter, wit, and rom-com situations. I liked the Bavarian small town and her sisters, as well as his hockey friends.
