Welcome to the Point There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.

Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way. Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.

Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad.

I am a sucker for a man who screams all kinds of T-R-O-U-B-L-E. Throw in some tats and piercings and I am a goner. I am a complete and total bad boy junkie, especially when it comes to the damaged boys who sport that famous who gives a flying fuck attitude.

Enter Shane Baxter…

I have to forewarn you, if you are looking for a “pretty boy,” then I most definitely would not suggest picking up this book.
Shane Baxter is darker than Jay has ever written, and oh my gosh did she do this sexy as fuck anti-hero all kinds of yummy justice. My newest obsession is downright raw and gritty, so damn rough around the edges. Our hero is not your typical bad boy; Bax truly is the epitome of bad boy. In my humble opinion, Jay broke the mold when she created him. He has moved up my list quickly to land a spot in my top five favorite book boyfriends.

Bax is Bax, unapologetically so. There is no pretense or fakeness to this character. What you see is very much what you get; you either take him as is or get the fuck out of his face. As a rule, he does not allow any one close, but when he does, he loves hard with an undying loyalty and wicked protective streak. And that my friends is exactly what I loved the most about Shane Baxter.

I am in the midst of a horrible book funk or I was until I met Bax! Let’s just say, I am currently obsessed with a totally new book boyfriend! Kim pretty much nailed it when she told me Better When He’s Bad is VERY Tammy friendly and that Bax is exactly what I needed. My girl knows me to the “T.” Thank you Ms. Crownover (and Kim for the rec) for breaking me out of this overwhelming funk for a bit. Shane Baxter just may be your best written bad boy to date and I say that as a huge fan of Rule!

I highly recommend Better When He’s Bad. Jay Crownover wrote an amazing story full of twists and turns that will grip you from the very first page. And by the end, you’ll be chomping at the bit to get your hands on Race’s story, as well as a bit more Bax and Dovie. I know I most certainly am.

Thank you, William Morrow, for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of Better When He's Bad in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how   men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
