He's the inked brother. The one you're wondering about. The bad boy of the family.
Colin Sloan has a past. He's done things he's not proud of, but he's living differently now. Making changes in his life. Working hard, working out harder, and trying to win over one woman. He's utterly crazy about Elle Mariano, and though the sex is epic, their friends-with-benefits arrangement just isn’t cutting it anymore. He wants all of her, and is determined to prove he’s what she needs in her life.
Elle is fiery, loyal, and in major lust with Colin Sloan. He’s everything she craves in a man -- smart, sexy, kind -- and a rock star between the sheets. But his past hits too close to home for her, and the people she has to protect. There isn't room in her life for a relationship with Colin. Especially when she’s forced to keep a secret that could tear his family apart…
SINFUL LONGING is the third book in the steamy, sexy, suspenseful New York Times Bestselling Sinful Nights series from Lauren Blakely, author of the wildly popular Seductive Nights series...This high-heat, high-stakes romance series follows the Sloan family as each sibling falls madly in love against the backdrop of sin, money, greed, passion, mystery and suspense...
Why, oh why, did he have to be off-limits? Why did he have to fall squarely under the heading of do not pass go? It was truly fucking unfair because no one had ever made her feel like this. Like she was high on a touch. Like she was deliciously dizzy from a kiss. She wanted him so badly, and not just physically. She wanted more of him, but her emotions had to be cordoned off tonight. She told herself to let go for this one last night, let go of everything but the way he made her feel so alive.
“Close your eyes,” he told her firmly, and she let her eyelids drift closed, giving in to sense. Giving in to touch.
Maybe she was selfish. Or maybe she just wanted to feel a little something that was solely for her tonight. Nobody could deliver that better than this man.
He was kneeling behind her. She couldn’t even see him. But she was keenly aware of his presence as he dipped his mouth closer to her skin. His lips fluttered over her sensitive neck once more. She ached, pulsing between her legs as he kissed her all over. A snapping sound fell on her ear, and her hair spilled from its clip onto her neck as he undid her twist.
“Oh God,” she gasped, because she knew what was next.
His hands dove into her hair.
Fuck me now. Just fuck me now.
He’d discovered all her secrets the very first time he’d kissed her and explored her body. He’d read her responses as if it were his top-secret assignment to know every inch of her skin, then he’d remembered and sought them out, focusing on all the places that drove her wild. The back of her knee. The inside of her arm. Her neck, the gateway to her pleasure.
She was hopeless with him. He’d unlocked the code to all her desires, and he used it masterfully.
He threaded his talented fingers through her curls, gripping, and she moved with him, moaned for him, as if she were the notes he played on a cello. He was the musician; she was the instrument. He played and he played and he played, and her body sang for him, a song of pure desire. Of heat. Of want.
He twisted her hair once around his hand, pulling it to the side, and she tilted her head that way, giving him more room to devour her neck with kisses, like he was starved for her. He lavished pleasure all over her, leaving her drenched in sensation from soft, fluttery whispers along her neck, territorial kisses that claimed her as his, all mixed with the whiskery rub of his stubble. His ever-present scruff was trimmed to mere millimeters but long enough to brush against her skin with every kiss, bringing the intoxicating mix of soft and hard, of rough and tender. He rubbed his chin along her shoulder, and she arched into him.
He snaked an arm over her shoulders, grazing along her breasts as he traveled down her belly, his fingertips dancing against her waist.
“You like what I do to you.” It wasn’t a question.
“So incredibly much,” she said, as he flicked the tip of his tongue across her shoulder. When he kissed her like this, and he touched her like that, she wanted to give herself to him fully. The way he wanted. The way he’d asked for. A voice in the back of her head started to argue with her, to warn her what happened when she made choices in heated moments like this, and she tensed for an instant.
But this was different. This was a moment she was choosing to relish. A night of pleasure.
His hand reached the crest of her hip and her brain went dormant. He traced the top of her panties through the fabric of her dress. “Show me how much you like giving in. Show me how wet you are.”
She yanked up her skirt, bunching it near her waist, giving him instant access to the V of her legs. Even with her panties on, there was no hiding her arousal.
He groaned huskily. “Look at you, Elle. Look at how wet you get. For me.” His fingers glided up the soft flesh of her thighs, and she parted her legs for him. Grazing the wet panel, he whispered, “I want to feel that all over my dick. I want this sweet wetness all the fuck over me. Tell me how much you want me inside you right now. Tell me.”
“Oh God,” she panted. “Yes, God yes. I want that. I want it so much.”
“You want it?”
“You,” she said quickly, correcting her error. “I want you so much.”
Colin Sloan wants all of Elle Mariano, but she's not willing to give it to him. She's got her reasons, even though she longs for him too. He's everything she wants, but also has the potential to be her worst nightmare repeated. Colin has tried hard to leave his past behind him, but it just keeps coming back to affect his present.
But they both know that their sizzling chemistry and attraction is not going away. So they both have their own strategies on how to play it. He takes risks for a living and in his leisure time, and her life is about minimizing them. They both think they can explore the physical and leave out the emotions, but can they really just be friends with benefits?
But they both know that their sizzling chemistry and attraction is not going away. So they both have their own strategies on how to play it. He takes risks for a living and in his leisure time, and her life is about minimizing them. They both think they can explore the physical and leave out the emotions, but can they really just be friends with benefits?
She has more than just herself to worry about. And his family drama is ongoing. Their pasts affect who they are and what decisions they make at times. Some of the past causes more immediate threats in their present. There are secrets and surprises that are gradually also coming to light.
I adored Colin. He is such a good, likable guy who is intelligent, sweet, and protective. But he is also sexy, charismatic, and a panty-melter and dirty talker. He's a risk taker, an adventurer, and an adrenaline junkie. He has had a rough past, but faced it and now tries to rise above. He focuses on a healthy lifestyle and giving back. But the new surprises and stresses have the potential to send him for a tailspin and test his coping skills.
Elle is caring, devoted, responsible and fearful. She does not trust easily and is used to being let down. She has to focus on her son's well being and the needs of the community center, as well as her own. She has made promises to herself and her son, but she also has needs, wants, and fantasies. It is hard for her to take risks or believe that she can have what she wants due to past issues.
Together they have a chemical reaction. They run scorching hot (if she is not running cold). They are compatible and good as friends, but they also burn up the sheets (or other locations) when they allow themselves. They challenge each other and push boundaries. But they both know the situation is tenuous at best and they can only live in denial so long.
But when life gets real, are they strong enough to push for more or will they crumble before they can really have a chance to begin?
Each book in this series has a stand alone romance with a different Sloan sibling, but also a continuing mystery suspense story unraveling about their family's past that we gradually are getting more answers about. The surprises, secrets, and fall out just keeps coming in this intricate, suspenseful story line that has affected all of the siblings in various ways.
I adored Colin and Elle. I could understand their challenges, but was rooting for them. They were a truly fun, flirty, and sweet couple with hot chemistry and a strong magnetic pull, but also had significant challenges. This couple had personal demons and past problems that were triggers for the other and not easy to overcome. Their story builds on the background that has come before in the series. I love the fact that the past family history has had layers peeled back more and more each book. It brings all the stories together in a larger framework. I love the relationship between Colin and his siblings and how each of them is making discoveries about themselves, their shared past, and each other. I also enjoyed Colin and Elle's rapport with the kids at the center.
This installment was sweet, hot, funny, and serious at the same time. It was full of longing, lust, love, and passion. It also centered around the importance family and friendship. It also had the suspense and danger component adding more stress and drama. It was about self discovery, pushing boundaries, and figuring out what limits can be dealt with. Sometimes changing strategies and taking risks can lead to the greatest rewards.
We got more answers about the underlying mystery in the back story, but the biggest surprising revelation also poses more questions. I am looking forward to more answers and their brother Michael finding his match in the fourth book Sinful Love.
Colin has been working to atone for his past for the last 8 years. But even with the majority of his demons behind him, his choices are hurting his present. He wants the community center director like he’s never wanted another woman, but she won’t start anything because of that past.
Elle is actively involved in the community center, working to keep kids safe and on the right track. Her own past shapes her decisions, and because of a bad experience, Colin’s past is a no go for her. But despite her reservations, he is determined to work through her hangups believing they can be good for each other.
The couple is hot. Beginning with a very physical, very steamy relationship it was clear that at least in the bedroom (or bathroom, dark hallway, or other semi-private location) they were more than compatible, if only they can work through Elle’s hangup about Colin’s past. It was so frustrating to watch Elle go hot and cold with Colin, especially since the youngest Sloan brother has long been one of my favorites of the brothers, but as her reasons come out my feelings settled and left me cheering them on instead of pulling my hair out.
There is so much going on, both between Colin and Elle and in the Sloan family, that this was a page turner from the beginning. Having watched the Sloan family drama slowly unfold since the very beginning of the series, I am fully invested in finding out exactly what is going on with Dora Prince, and who is behind the threats that seem to be hovering on the edge of each of these stories.
The bombshell dropped on the siblings at the end of Sinful Desire gets more attention here and readers see more of the lead up to that revelation as well as the aftermath. There are more discoveries in Dora’s case and the cluster that has become of that whole situation. I love that these siblings have rallied around each other, both in their romantic lives and with the drama with their mother. This particular revelation had the potential to split them completely and I love the way they handled everything about it.
This series is not over. Not only does Michael have his “what if” girl out there somewhere, but there is so much more to learn about their mother. I am on the edge of my seat, once again, waiting for the next installment of this series to come out.

She was the one who got away…
Ten years ago, Brent Nichols let the love of his life slip through his fingers. It’s his greatest regret, especially since she’s all but disappeared. But when the gorgeous and captivating woman walks into his life unexpectedly, he’s determined to win her back. Whatever it takes, he won’t make the same mistake twice.
Easier said than done…
Shannon Paige has hardened her heart to the man she was once engaged to be married to. After the way he left, and after the hell she’s been through with her checkered family, there’s no way she’s letting him into her life again. The problem is, the second she sees him, he’s more handsome and charming than before. And she’s torn between wanting to fight with him and wanting to sleep with him - maybe both. Soon they fall into each other’s arms, consumed with a desire that burns through the years.
But if these two fiery lovers are going to have a real second chance at this kind of intense, passionate, bone-deep love, he’ll have to give her his whole heart, and she’ll have to give up all the secrets from her messy past.
And that messy past is about to spill over into her carefully constructed present…
SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS is book one in SINFUL NIGHTS, a four-book series. Each book will follow a new couple.
Control.
It’s what Ryan Sloan values most. Control of his business, control of his secrets, control of his days and nights. With the way his life spiraled in the past, he needs to stay in charge of his present.
Giving up control.
It’s what Sophie Winston craves. After a wildly successful career, she’s stepped away from the business world and is now focused on her work as her city’s most noted philanthropist.
When she meets Ryan Sloan, the chemistry is scorching, and utterly undeniable. Their desire for each other runs red hot. He wants everything she’s willing to give him in bed, and she wants him to take her to new heights as only he can.
Soon, he has to have more. All of her — heart, mind and body.
The only trouble is, he hasn’t been honest about how he met her and the dangerous connection he has to her brother.
When the truth is revealed, he’ll have to give more of himself than he’s bargained for or risk losing the only woman he’s ever let into his heart.
