A smart, sexy entrepreneur. A wealthy, arrogant ladies’ man set on purchasing her company. And a hotbed of chemistry neither one of them anticipated.
Aiden Stewart is just going through the motions of running the family business, a mega communications company snapping up all the competition. His trip to a tiny New England town to negotiate the purchase of ChatDotCom is nothing more than an interruption in his plans for his next female conquest. The last thing he expects is for Chat’s CEO M. Jordan Fitzgerald to be a woman who takes his breath away.
Jordan is focused on business, not romance. She’s got too much at stake, working to protect Chat’s employees, as well as making sure her family is taken care of. Falling in love is not part of the business plan, but resisting the man she really should not want is proving impossible.
When a rival wants to take over Chat too, Jordan struggles to keep her personal life from affecting the business deal. With secrets that could ruin everything, she has to decide if she can balance business with pleasure.
Linda Cunningham introduces hot new characters in her second Small Town novel, a steamy office romance set in idyllic Clark’s Corner, Vermont.

Our rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
They met for a merger but it quickly becomes more.
Aiden: He is a handsome, wealthy, playboy, business man. He spends his time working and enjoying the company of many women, but not feeling anything for any of them.
Aiden was just vain enough to take pleasure in his own physical attributes and, whenever he had the opportunity, use them to get what he wanted. Especially from women...He sighed, feeling the game was getting a little out of control. He was juggling four women in four locations at the moment and that was a little much , even for him.
Jordan: A young Executive with secrets and guilt from her past, a lot of pressure on her in her personal and professional life, and fear of losing control. She is independent, determined, and strong. She does not like asking for or receiving help.
Jordan was an enigma. She seemed friendly enough, but there was an unmistakable guard around her, a parameter past which, it seemed for Aiden, she let no one enter.
They have a connection immediately and I have to say that at first it seemed like their relationship was happening too fast. I am not a big fan of insta-love. But I can appreciate a man who is willing to change his lifestyle and realizes when he meets someone worthy of changing for. Jordan had serious issues that gradually are shared throughout the book. As those issues come to light and the layers are peeled off her character more, I felt that the book started to have more depth. Her feelings for Aiden are all twisted in with past issues that she has to deal with before she can think about moving on. And I loved that Aiden was adamant about taking a chance and worked to convince Jordan that their feelings should not be ignored. I really liked Aiden. And he and Jordan did have good chemistry and some sexy scenes together.
"I'm not giving up on us, Jordan."
"I have to have all of you, Jordan, because you have all of me. That's only fair. Sharing a life means just that."
There are some other outside influences causing trouble. It got more exciting closer to the end with some sad, dramatic, and tense situations. They have a lot to face, but can Jordan give up some control and realize that maybe two really are stronger than one?
So, in the end it got deeper, more intense, and I liked the couple together. I enjoyed their friends and families, the sense of community, and the descriptions of the beautiful locations.
This is the second in her Small Town series. Book 1 is Small Town Girl and featured Cohen and Lauren who made a small appearance in this book. But it can be read as a stand alone.
