Temporary Bliss

(Bliss # 1, New Erotic Romance Series)
Author: BJ Harvey
Release date: August 28
Makenna Lewis cringes at any mention of the word commitment. She doesn’t want or need a relationship, but she does like sex (who doesn't).

That explains Noah, Sean, and Zander, her three 'friends with benefits'.

They know the score, they know they're not the only one, and each of them provide her with a different physical need that she craves and enjoys.

Until a late night encounter with the delicious Daniel Winters turns her preconceived notion of no-commitment completely on its head.
Soon she finds herself feeling things she vowed never to feel again, and when Daniel pushes for more than she’s willing to give, she falters.
What do you do when something that you’ve known to be so wrong in the past feels so damn right?
If you’re Mac, you run and hide.
But is Daniel the type of man who takes no for an answer?

This man is seriously swoon worthy, but I'm not supposed to swoon, I'm not a swooner. Me and emotional connections do not go together.

Makenna made a vow and she is determined to keep it. After escaping an abusive relationship, she decided she will never again fall in love and be controlled by a man. Four years later she has a great career as an ICU nurse, a supportive room mate Kate, and three (yes...three!) "Friends with benefits". She juggles Noah the Doctor aka "The Walking Dildo", Sean the Corporate Attorney who is quite domineering, and Zander the fun loving Stripper. They each provide her with orgasms and fulfills the needs she has at the time. And best of all there are no feelings, no romantic complications, and no expectations.
But one night, one chance meeting of THE man, and her whole vow is put to the test. Enter Daniel Winters, a hot, charismatic stock broker. He is funny, flirty, confident, and knows what he wants. And that is Mac. He is everything she doesn't think she wants or needs. He is patient, respectful, kind, sexy, and he brings thoughts and feelings out of Mac that she cannot handle. He seriously turns her whole world upside down. But she thinks she can keep it together and go on few dates and have some sex...it doesn't have to be more. Daniel has other ideas and is willing to do what it takes.

Aside from our physical relationships, I'm friends with all three of them. Each man provides me with a different physical need that I crave and desire; that sometimes I just want. But I'm not a slut, and I'm not easy....We're all safe, and we all know the exact nature of our relationship... For the first time in four years, a man has my heart beating faster, my eyes shining brighter, and my brain turning to mush...

So Mac is presented with the perfect guy...the one that women dream about..her Superman. But her past has totally messed with her head and is prone to freak outs. As much as she gets pulled towards Daniel, she pushes that much harder and runs away. She is indecisive, confused, and conflicted. Before she can really be in a relationship, she has to deal with her own issues and insecurities.

"Tell me you feel this, gorgeous? Tell me I'm not dreaming this..."
"I'm feeling it, and it's scaring the shit out of me..."

"As hard as this is for me to say, don't come back to me until you figure out what you want and who you want it with because I'm getting sick of watching you walk away."

And by the time she figures it out, will Daniel still be waiting?

This book was unique, funny, sexy and sweet. Mac made me want to smack sense into her sometimes, but I did like her. She was sassy and smart, but just emotionally challenged. And Delicious Daniel was just that....totally delicious. A perfect male specimen that was sweet and loving, but still charismatic and manly. He was completely swoon-worthy and had my heart all along. I was not as invested in her arrangements with Zander, Noah, and Sean (because it was all about Daniel for me), but they were all interesting, sexy, and caring in their own right. And they have strong personalities, character traits, and were intriguing. I adored her fun, unfiltered friend Kate and I am looking forward to her book True Bliss. We will also see stories for Zander, Sean, and Noah as this series continues. So this will be a series focusing on different couples, and there was no big ugly cliffhanger to this one. The author was also careful about how she timed everything, so it is not a big cheat-fest or anything that might turn some people off.  So if you are need of a fun, enticing read with sexy characters and an emotional bite, then grab this one and find some temporary bliss yourselves
