Things are off, and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Some things, however, are the same. For example, the sex with Matt is just as nuclear and consistent as it always has been.

Still… I feel like I’m holding onto Matt with my fingertips, like he’s on the verge of slipping away and I don’t know what to do.

When I started these Legal Affairs, I had no way of knowing the depth of feeling that would become involved. I had no way of knowing this man could shatter my existence.

I don’t want to be hurt, so I’m grasping hard and I can only hope that he wants me enough to hang on just as tight.

I feel like I'm grasping onto Matt, like he's on the verge of slipping away, and that is causing me a lot of anxiety.

Oh Wow! The final installment to this hot lawyers in love series is finally here! This one had my emotions all over the place. As much as I have come to love Matt recently, I wanted to kick him in the balls multiple times during this one. Sure I know, cut the guy some slack...he has issues, it is not easy for him, he is trying, blah blah blah...Excuses did not ease my disappointment in him at times. But DAMN that man is still hot, sexy, and magnetic. He is hard to resist even when he reverts or closes off. He is a multifaceted conflicted man. But even when he frustrated me, I still wanted him to find true happiness with Mac. And the times when you could see his underlying vulnerability and emotion just did me in.

And Mac. She has been spunky and sassy from the beginning, but she just gets more confident and is now pretty bad ass in her own right. I loved seeing her growth during this series and she rocked my socks off in this one. She has come into her own and is not taking any less than she deserves.

There are some other characters kind of in the middle of their situation and causing drama. One was a new source of conflict, and a couple others had contributed to some of Matt's past issues. All of it swirls around causing more issues for Matt and Mac to deal with and damaging the fragile relationship they had attained.

We are f**king perfect in bed together. Absolutely perfect. It just sucks that it's the only way we seem to be compatible.

Matt has to do some soul searching about his life and figure out what he can realistically handle and what he really needs to be happy...and hope that when he figures it out that Mac is still willing to give him another chance (How many chances is that now? I lost count.)

This was a roller coaster of an installment and a perfect finale. I was tense, pissed off, turned on, laughing, smiling, and swooning at alternate times. These two have such chemistry and such a witty rapport when things are good. And when things are bad, it sends them (especially Matt) over the edge. But he lacks self awareness at times about what he really feels and needs. And poor Mac often gets caught trying to figure out where his head and heart is at. I was totally enthralled and had to keep flipping pages trying to see how it was all going to end.

This series was so much fun! It was was my first serial and I was not sure I would be patient enough of if I would be able to remember the details after a two week break. But I am a huge Sawyer Bennett fan so was willing to give it a try. And I found that I loved it! Each  piece had a lot of substance and interesting twists. I did not feel cheated at all. Each installment  kept me engaged, excited, and wanting more. I became really attached to the characters. They were well developed and  likable(well most of the time when they were not making me mad or frustrating me).The plot had enough twists and turns in the story and it all came together to be such a feisty, fun, emotional, humorous, and sexy read. And even though we got resolution, I was sad to see it end. I would not mind returning with these characters in the future and maybe seeing more of their friends Macy or Cal. They were also interesting and had unique back stories. I highly recommend this series. You can grab the first one Legal Affairs-Objection for free and I bet you will get hooked like I did.

Mac and Matt have been back and forth repeatedly throughout the serial. At the end of Reparation I thought things were looking pretty good for Mac and Matt. I was lulled into a sense of completion then, and I should have waited to feel like they were settling. Because boy did they still have things to figure out.

Jobs. Relationship. Friendships. There was so much to wrap up and resolve from the overarching serial plot, let alone the smaller conflicts that have to arise in the individual volume. There were times I was grinning, and others where I wanted to smack some sense into the characters -- mostly Matt. There were plenty of surprises from both Mac and Matt. I loved the decisions Mac made personally and professionally to take care of herself.

After weeks of barely hanging on waiting for the next part of the serial, I can’t believe Legal Affairs is over. I loved the ups and downs that Mac and Matt had to travel. It felt like one of those relationships where no one ever really settles into a groove. The focus really is on Mac and Matt for most of the plot, though the secondary characters do come in to support the couple as needed. I loved Macy’s input throughout, and the tension with Cal added to Matt’s feelings about relationships. Lorraine and Kelsey? I could have done without them, though they were important in their own ways and necessary to the story development.

As the first serial I have read as it released, my patience was tried on several occasions waiting for the next part to come out, but it wasn’t long enough that my attention was gone or I had to re-read portions to remember what had already happened. And isn’t that the sign of a good serial? One where the details are memorable and the reader can’t wait to find out what happens next. Overall this was a fun, fast-paced story.

One year ago, I graduated from law school and embarked on a career as a purveyor of high priced legal shenanigans.

Six months ago, my boyfriend dumped me when I thought he might be proposing.

Two weeks ago, I got drunk and joined a secret sex club.

Two days ago, I had a torrid one-night stand with a stranger.

Today? Well, today I’m contemplating having an affair with my boss.

Matt Connover is all kinds of forbidden temptation wrapped up in a deliciously wicked package, and he’s made it clear… he’s only interested in sex.

My name is McKayla Dawson but everyone calls me Mac. I work at the powerhouse firm of Connover & Crown, LLP, where the law has never felt so hot.

But between you and me, I’m afraid my heart won’t survive these Legal Affairs.

I crossed a line with my boss and there’s no taking it back.

Not that I’d want to.

You see… Matt Connover? Well, he’s something else. Strong, magnetic, sexy as hell… but yeah, he’s still my boss.

What am I doing? Why is he so irresistible to me? Maybe it’s because I finally saw a different side to him. I saw, for a brief moment, that Matt is vulnerable, possibly damaged. Is it wrong that it makes him even sexier in my opinion?

I’m in deep and I don’t see any way out.

I don’t want to find a way out.

I want to find a way for both of us to stay involved in these Legal Affairs.~ McKayla “Mac” Dawson

My life is in a tail-spin and I’m about ready to crash.

I’ve cut Matt Connover out of my life… well, at least out of my bedroom… but I still have to deal with him at work. I have Lorraine intent on raining hell and destruction down upon me, which at least provides a nice diversion from my miserable feelings over Matt.

About the only good thing that has happened to me lately?

Cal Carson asked me out… and I accepted.

Matt’s not going to like that. Not one little bit.

But that’s not my problem now, is it?

Legal Affairs-Mitigation (part 4)

I’ve seen a new side to Matt Connover. He’s proven to me that there is something inside him other than icy control and masculine force.

I’ve seen care… tenderness… even protectiveness.

I’ve seen vulnerability.

But Matt Connover’s issues run deep. I know Cal hurt him deeply, and he keeps himself protected because of that. I also sense there is something more to his pain that even I cannot comprehend.

Matt is struggling between what he knows and what he wants.

I’m struggling with boundaries and how to protect my own fragile heart.

This time I’m drawing a line in the sand and Matt can either step over to join me, or these Legal Affairs are finished forever.

Matt Connover is like a new person. Caring, romantic and thoughtful. No worries though… he’s still sexy as hell.

He has changed in every way that I have ever dreamed of, and he did it because he wants me. It’s like a fairy tale of sorts.

Except… like with every fairy tale, there is a villain. One who threatens to disrupt the harmony we have created together.

Is what we have strong enough to survive? I truly believe that perhaps I can find love within these Legal Affairs. I’m just not sure Matt believes it.
