manwhore.jpgMANWHORE (book 1 of the Manwhore series)
Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

“I’m not endearing to people… I’d say people respond to me on four levels and four levels only: they want to pray to me, be me, do me, or kill me.”

I loved Malcolm Saint, maybe even more than Remy. He was an all-around enigma—so much more than the eye could see. Malcolm truly was both “the sinner and the saint.” He was a dynamic and influential character, but in a reserved and composed sense. His power, dominance, and need for absolute control were clearly there, it just wasn’t beating you over the head. I usually prefer the highly intense dominants, but there was something captivating about Saint’s “quieter” brand of intensity that intrigued me. His persona was slow building, taking you through the diverse temperaments of this multifaceted man. Katy wrote his character with such precision that his many compelling layers seemed to unravel at just the right moments. I really liked that my investment with this hero grew throughout the book instead of an immediate connection. I think it allowed me a better opportunity to view him from the many different dimensions he displayed.

When I first met Saint, I was introduced to him as the mysterious, wealthy, rule-breaking playboy who liked to have things his own way. It didn’t take long to realize that while he may have been all of these things, these things were not him. Yes, he was closed off. Yes, he was a rule breaker. Yes, he had issues with trust and honesty. Yes, he was quite wealthy as well as a playboy. However, these were all superficial qualities to the man we have come to know as Saint. Malcolm’s underlying qualities went much deeper than what was popular to belief. It was easy to fall head over heels in love with this “manwhore.” This unfiltered, jaded, and unattainable man was definitely not a foregone conclusion. Saint did not come anywhere close to what I had envisioned coming into this story. In fact, he quite surprised me.

Malcolm Saint made this book for me. He is what gave it its four star rating, well him and his besties. I’ll reserve my feelings on Rachel until I have read book two. At this point, I cannot say I disliked her, nor can I say I was overly thrilled with her. Her character was kind of stagnant. I don’t know if it was because of her friends, who were beyond obnoxious, or the simple fact I hated knowing she was playing a wicked game of cat and mouse, screwing with Saint’s feelings. There was one main thing I did appreciate about her, and that was the fact that in the end she didn’t sell out. However, I wanted her to come clean much sooner on so many different occasions. I know, I know if she had then there would have been no angst, nor the need for book two. I wish I could tell you that I loved her character and that she landed on my top favorite heroine’s shelf; unfortunately, I can’t. Why? Because while I understand she was doing what she needed to do for her job, I just cannot get past all the lying (and yes, this would have pissed me off if the protagonists roles had been reversed).

Katy, can we PRETTY PLEASE get some Tahoe and Callan? These two entertained and charmed the daylights out of me. Whenever they were in a scene with Saint, I couldn’t help but giggle like a schoolgirl. Both men were beyond charismatic, and each deserve their own game of cat and mouse. I have to say, I fell for both of these playboys, hook line and sinker. It came close to a tossup between this trio of hot, hot men.

Overall, I really enjoyed Manwhore and the characters that lied between its pages. I am anxiously awaiting the next edition in this series. I truly cannot wait to see the hell Saint puts Rachel through. I am not a fan of lying, and it bugs the crap out of me when couples fail to communicate. Which Rachel did with all of her scheming and withholding the truth. I would almost feel bad for Saint’s girl, but she knew exactly what she was doing, and the consequences that would come with the deceit.

Thank you, Sullivan and Partners, for the complimentary copy of Manwhore.

Malcolm Saint was an assignment. A story. A beautiful, difficult man I was supposed to uncover for a racy exposé.

I intended to reveal himhis secrets, his lifestyle—not let him reveal me. But my head was overtaken by my heart and suddenly nothing could stop me from falling. I fell for him, and I fell hard.

Malcolm Saint is absolute Sin, and I've become a hopeless Sinner.

Now that the assignment is over, Saint wants something from me--something unexpected--and I want this wicked playboy's heart. But how can I prove to the man who trusts no one that I’m worthy of becoming his plus one?
