Dilyn Hart hates Christmas, so when her boss (and ex-boyfriend) hands her an assignment to interview champion snowboarder and gorgeous playboy extraordinaire, Dash Grainger, on Christmas Eve, she takes it. There are several things she doesn’t plan for—a surly driver, a chalet in the middle of nowhere, a freak snowstorm—but the biggest surprise of all is Dash himself.
Dash Grainger lives for the high, and so far in his twenty-six years, he’s never met anyone or anything he loves more. Nothing has ever thrilled him as much as slick snow, cold air, and breakneck speed.
Until he meets Dilyn.
But one perfect night doesn’t mean clear, blue skies the next day. There are some storms that can’t be weathered.
Christmas Day might just be one of them.
This is a short, sweet, and romantic Christmas novella.
Dilyn Hart is a Scrooge about Christmas...due to her past, she hates it. So when she is asked to do an interview on Christmas Eve with famous snowboarder and notorious playboy, Dash Grainger, she heads to a cabin to do her job.
Dilyn is sassy, smart, and stubborn. She is dealing with some mixed feelings from her last relationship, but one look at Dash has her surprisingly smitten. Dash is charismatic, sexy, and funny. He lives for the adrenaline rush and so far nothing has ever been important enough to him to make him stop chasing the danger.
A promise of resistance that is bound to be broken.
One magical night stranded in a cabin.
An unexpected morning after.
What happens when you meet the perfect person in ideal circumstances, but then doubt and the real world creep in?
Dilyn really needed to learn to let go of her anger from her past and to be happy in the present. She needed to move forward and figure out what was really important. Her life was changing suddenly and she had choices to make. But it was hard to know if their night and connection was real or just meant to be a one night thing.
I adored Dash. He was such a warm, charming, guy with just enough cockiness and sex appeal. And when he let his vulnerability show, he just melted my heart. Swoon! Dilyn was a bit more of a mess, but part of it was her trying to figure out what was going on with the men in her life. She was afraid to trust and get her heart broken. She had strong feelings, but also strong fears. And there was quite a bit of miscommunication and misunderstandings making things unclear.
It was fast-paced due to it's novella length. It was definitely a quick connection, insta-lust, and love. But I did not really mind the pace. They packed a lot of getting to know each other into one night. I liked getting both of their points of view and seeing their intense reactions. They had such a fun rapport, and good chemistry. There was just enough drama and tension, but not enough to take away from the fact that it was sweet, sexy, and heartfelt. I loved these characters together and this story...I was just not ready for it to be over. I was so glad that there was an epilogue. But this was a smile-inducing, fun, little read for when you need a bit of Christmas spirit.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Dilyn Hart hates Christmas. Her track record with the holiday is less than stellar, so a work assignment over the holiday is not a hardship. Dash Grainger is always after the next adrenaline rush. His need for speed and the next thrill has always been his biggest love.
One night trapped by a storm could change the course of both their lives.
Though they have an immediate chemistry and instant attraction, one night together is not enough to build a stable connection, let alone a relationship, and they have a few miscommunications and issues to work through once they are no longer snowbound.
Both characters were strong individuals with great development, considering the length of the story. Dilyn is smart and sassy, knows her own mind, and isn’t afraid to go out on a limb for what she wants. Dash is charming and smooth, resilient and confident.
This was a fun, festive short story. There were moments I wished there was more to the story, that we could see more for Dilyn and Dash, but this was a perfect little snapshot into their world and their beginning. And I will say, I will never look at s’mores the same again!

New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, M. Leighton, is a rarely ever comfortable speaking about herself in the third person, but here goes. She has the best job in the world, a husband who treats her like a princess, and a dog that's so smart she may one day write a novel, too. You can often find Michelle hidden away in her cave, crafting a new story, or out in the sunshine enjoying some quiet time with her man.
