Top three reasons why sleeping with the enemy is a bad idea...
1. She’s my fiercest rival.
2. She’s also my fiery ex.
3. We’re going up against each other in a stiff competition to win the hottest new client on the market.
And yet, I’d like to be up against the wall in a stiff competition to get her to call out my name.
Time to double down on my resistance to her tough-as-nails, take-no-prisoners, sexy-as-sin attitude. The same attitude that I find irresistible.
That’s the big problem, because in this race to nab the client I run into Haven in the hotel, on the beach, in the guest quarters late at night.
Hate sex would be a terrible idea.
Except, it’s the complete opposite, and now we can’t keep our hands off each other.
Trouble is, I’m not so sure it’s hate I’m feeling anymore.
And that’s the biggest reason sleeping with the enemy you’re falling for is a bad idea -- my job literally depends on never letting her into my heart.
Competitors, Rivals, Former lovers. This book is so hot! These two have such chemistry and so much sexual tension and frustration. Can they resist the temptation to fall back into bed? Not likely!
Josh Summers is a successful sports agent with a law background. He is sexy, charming, funny, detail-oriented, and extremely competitive.
Former Olympian, Haven Delilah is his nemesis. His former protege' and colleague is now a rival sports agent. She is smart and full of sass and attitude. She is as competitive as he is and just as stubborn. And they are now in direct opposition as they chase down the same athletes for representation.

They have a history that puts them at odds and they never really talked about it. They have witty and feisty banter, and love pushing the other's buttons. They have both been trying to follow their best steps to resistance: avoidance, antagonism, outdoing the other, killing with kindness, and getting each other out of their systems. But they keep getting pushed back into closer proximity and temptation. But they also know sleeping with the enemy can be a dangerous business.
Can they find a way to reconcile their past and co-exist in the present in order to have a chance at a peaceful future?
This is a fiery, sexy, witty, and heartfelt lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance. These two are so much fun! They have such great rapport, chemistry, and changing dynamics that keep it interesting. It is a male point of view book (which are my favorite...especially Lauren's unfiltered male narrators), but Haven is represented in other ways. And she also lets some other characters talk to us as well, and that made me so happy. I love this world created around sports agents and athletes. It has plenty of fun cameos (I was so excited about some of these) and some twists. It also introduces some interesting new characters like Josh's three sisters and other agents and athletes that I hope we might see again in the future.

Haven Delilah and Josh Summers are fierce rivals representing the best of the best in sports. Each come at the field from different angles, Josh can pick apart a contract better than anyone else, working to get his clients the best deals possible. Haven understands what athletes need, having been an Olympic champion herself. Competing for the same clients has always worked this pair up, though they find themselves heating it up between the sheets as well.
As they work to sign the same athletes, they have to decide how far they are willing to go to win, and just what is it to win in this game?
I loved the competitive edge between these two. Though the competition is also what keeps their rivalry brewing, it is also what pulls them together. They have worked together for some time, and their history is part of what really drives them to compete. Each character is strong in their own right. Haven’s determination to succeed in a male dominated field means she doesn’t take any advancement for granted and works twice as hard to get it. Josh has his own moral compass for working with clients that causes some friction as well. He knows he won’t like every client, but when their personalities don’t mesh he has a hard time following through.
This is a steamy, rivals to lovers storyline that moves at a great pace. I loved watching their differing ways of wooing the client and could see the client choosing either as a result. Josh’s penchant for side bets causes several humorous situations as he has to pay up on lost bets. The group of people surrounding these two add a lot of interest to the story -- athletes, fellow agents, and some familiar characters as well.

Her hand slides down my back, and it feels reverent. Her touch does so many things to me. It turns me on, it riles me up, and it sends me soaring. And now, it makes my heart thunder like a wild animal in my chest. One that wants to be with her, next to her, beside her.
“More,” I whisper. “Give me more of your kisses.”
“Take them all,” she tells me.
I am ravenous for her. I don’t know if I will ever be sated.
Not with her scent in my head, her body curled around me, and her kisses on my lips and in my soul.
We might have come in here for one final hurrah, but as we kiss like we can’t ever get enough, this doesn’t feel like the last time for either of us. It doesn’t seem like the end run down the slopes.
I should keep that thought to myself. But when I’m with her, when she’s close like this, I can’t think rationally. It’s too hard to lie or to pretend like she’s the enemy.
My rival, yes.
The competition, yes.
But she’s also the woman I can’t quit.
The woman I don’t want to quit.
