He lives in secret service to the Crown—a man of duty, deception, and an undeniable attraction to a woman who threatens to tear his whole world apart.

They call him the Devil of Dorset. He stands alone, a man of undeniable power. Moving in and out of shadows, back alleys and ballrooms, he is unstoppable and one of the Crown’s most dangerous weapons. However, when he sets his sights on the undeniably beautiful Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish, he doesn’t realize that he has met a match like no other.

TRUE LOVE WEARS NO DISGUISE

Francesca is a countess by day and stalks her prey—those responsible for the death of her family—by night. What she does not expect is to be thrown into the path of the devil himself, the Earl of Devlin. She has secrets of her own and he seems determined to lay them bare. Can her heart survive finding the love of her life and losing him when all is revealed?

This is a story born in tragedy and powered by revenge.

Currently Francesca Cavendish is on a quest for vengeance against the people who murdered her family and burned down in the Mont Claire massacre. She is cunning, untrusting, stubborn, brave, and will do anything she has to in order to take down the villains she is after. And she does this at the expense of her reputation and her own safety.

The Devil of Dorset goes by many names but he is really a ghost. A spy. A chameleon. A man of many disguises and names. He is currently becoming obsessed and is insanely attracted to Francesca. But he is pretty sure she is not who she says she is and he is determined to uncover the truth. But then no one really knows who he is either.

There is a lot of history fueling these two. They are both set on vengeance. They both have secrets, freely lie, and have varying hidden identities. But some secrets and ommissions may be harder to deal with than others.

But will they find common ground and enough trust to bare their secrets and work to take down a common enemy?

This is a mysterious, suspenseful, steamy, second chance love story. I will admit I was not a fan of all the lying and just wanted to shake them until all their truths were out. They had volatile chemistry, but sometimes I doubted their actual feelings and attachment to each other since they were often so guarded and mysterious. I think part of that had to do with the nature of the relationships that I cannot really talk about since it would be spoilery. I liked him, but he did royally annoy me for a bit and seemed to have a pretty quick shift to rights.

This ties up the stories for these three friends and their new mates and the underlying story of the evil Crimson Council. It brings back the other Red Rogues, Alexandria and Cecilia, and their significant others, Redmayne and Ramsey. They are a wonderful support system especially since Francesca can be impulsive and brave. I think their interactions were actually some of my favorite in the book.

Kim's review

They are a dangerous duke, a fierce lord, and an infamous earl—dark, bold, brave men who know exactly what they want. And there is only one woman who can bring them to their knees...

He is first and foremost—at everything. A man who's made his own way in the world through ruthless cunning and sheer force of will. A strong and imposing Scot who can turn on the charm but does not suffer fools. His title: Lord Chief Justice of the High Court. His name: Cassius Gerard Ramsay. His mission: To investigate the goings-on at London's most notorious gaming hell, owned and operated by one of the most intriguing and desirable women he's ever met.

IN THIS GAME OF LOVE, THE RULES DO NOT APPLY

Cecelia Teague was an orphan facing a rather dire future—until a secret benefactor from her mother's scandalous past swept into her life. Sent to prestigious boarding school and later to university, Cecelia believed high society was at her fingertips...Then, from out of nowhere, she became the inheritor of a gambling establishment. Now Cecelia must live two lives: one as a proper lady who finds herself undeniably drawn to Lord Ramsay and the other as a savvy gaming hell owner trying to save her business from the very same man. He has no idea she is both women...and Cecelia would like to keep it that way. But what happens when consuming passion and escalating danger threaten to reveal the truth?

Kerrigan Byrne

Kerrigan has done many things to pay the bills, from law enforcement to belly dance instructor. Now she’s finally able to have the career she’d decided upon at thirteen when she announced to her very skeptical family that she was going to “grow up to be a romance novelist.” Whether she’s writing about Celtic Druids, Victorian bad boys, or brash Irish FBI Agents, Kerrigan uses her borderline-obsessive passion for history, her extensive Celtic ancestry, and her love of Shakespeare in almost every story.

She lives in a little Victorian coast town on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State with her wonderful husband. When she’s not writing you can find her sailing, beach combing, kayaking, visiting wineries, breweries, and restaurants with friends, and hiking…okay…wandering aimlessly clenching bear spray in the mountains.
