WILD WAR (Dirty Wild #2) by Laurelin Paige
Release Date: June 29, 2021
PREORDER TODAY!
As soon as I saw him, it was war.

I thought at first it would be between me and him.
Cade was cold and hard and didn’t want anything to do with the headmaster’s daughter.
I was off-limits.
He didn’t need that kind of trouble.

I didn’t need that kind of trouble, either. And since I did my best to avoid any kind of trouble, that should have been the end of it.

But when I saw him, he also saw me.
All of me.
The lonely parts. The dark parts.
The secret parts.

He became my ally.
I lost the battle with myself and fell in love despite the risk.

But the war isn’t over for either of us.
Not as long as my father is alive.

Book two of three in the final trilogy in the Dirty Universe.
Triggers: detailed child abuse, degradation, sadistic tendencies toward children, sexual act against a child (although there was no actual touching of the child in a sexual manner), controlling, narcissistic abuse

Where Wild Rebel didn’t work for me, Wild War made up for everything Rebel wasn’t. I connected with the characters, it answered my question of why Cade seemed to forgive instantly and so easily. And that reasoning absolutely broke me. Let's just say, I was not prepared for the extent or journey Paige was about to set me on.

Book two spends 90% of its time in the past, with Cade and Jolie being teenagers, under her father’s very abusive and cruel thumb. The words you’ll read are not light and fluffy. They are not rainbows and glitter. They are dark, violent acts with a few bright moments in between.

Those bright moments were Cade and Jolie. Their love/relationship was complex, but oh so perfect! Flaws and all! The unjust they suffered had me aching for them, as individuals and as a couple. I wanted to hug them. I prayed someone would come along and save them. I wanted them to tell someone. Anyone. But they were pretty secluded, with Jolie's father controlling their every moment. That seclusion made their stolen moments that much more significant. Which in turn made that final blow heartrending. To mine and Cade's heart. Why Laurelin?! WHY?!

Never mind... after that ending, everything made sense: the leaving, the favor. That was one hell of a cliffy, though there were moments I had my suspicions. I'm ready for it to be September. I NEED answers, explanations, and reactions!!
With millions of books sold worldwide, Laurelin Paige is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author. She is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however.

When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Killing Eve or Letterkenny, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She's also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn't do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio.

She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.
