From NYT and USA Today bestselling author A.L. Jackson comes a close proximity, single-parent stand-alone romance about a woman on the run and the man who will do anything to save her…

Jud Lawson found me stranded in the rain.
Broken down on the side of the road in a deserted neighborhood with my piece of crap car.
I wasn’t looking for a hero, and definitely not one who looks like him.
An obscenely hot, mountain-of-a-man who screams danger.
But I have little choice other than climbing onto the back of his bike.

One look at Salem Aguilar, and I’m hooked.
The girl is devastation wrapped in a black, seductive bow.
A knockout.
A dream.
Turns out, she needs a job, and I need the help.
Now I have a vixen strutting around my shop, and I’m the fool who’s itching to reach out and take what he can’t have.

But neither of us can ignore the burning attraction.
The fire that leads to a kiss.
A kiss that has us falling into my bed.
The connection that has me wanting the one thing I’d never thought I could have again.
Because monsters like me don’t deserve love.

Only Salem has a secret, too.
She’s been running for years, and her past just caught up to us…

"Black-f...in"-magic."

This is an intense, emotional, and suspenseful story about two people still running from demons from their pasts. But has one has forged new roots in Redemption Hills and the other just dreams of being able to. They are damaged, haunted, tired, and lonely. Their connection sparks immediately and their lonely hearts recognize pain, wants, and need. They want to hope but are scared of loss or further pain. But the small possibility of finding a home, comfort, peace, and forever is worth lying to themselves about being just friends while their bodies and hearts react in uncontrollable ways.

Jud Lawson is rugged charm, chaos, protection, fierce loyalty, and danger rolled into one. He fights demons, remorse, guilt, nightmares, grief, and feels he is continually doing penance for his sins. But is dark past also prepares him to be ready to battle and fight if needed. He sees the real her that she hides from everyone, and she engages his protective streak.

"I have you, Salem."

But in turn, Salem sees the good man he is in his core, not just the intimidating giant or what he has done. She has her own scars and secrets. She has had to be cautious, untrusting, and never lets anyone get close.

“I do see, Jud. I see a man who is kind and good and gentle and fierce. I see a man who’s haunted. Haunted like me.”

Being vulnerable and trusting does not come easy to either of them. Their present is affected by the pain from their pasts. But if they can find it in them to share their burdens and fight for each other and alongside each other, they might have a chance to beat their demons back together and find a better future.

A dark tower. A ferocious warrior. A wicked savior. I wanted him to be. To stand for me. For us. But I could never ask that of him.

These two are fire and storms and lightning strikes and magic. This installment is full of secrets, twists, suspense, intense passion, and all the feels. It combines this author's usual lyrical style with more edge, grit, and fierceness. It brings back his brothers, Trent and Logan, Eden, Tessa, and sweet little Gage. The scenes with kids in this one are so adorable and just lighten the mood. It has the dangerous edge of the tatted, rough, ex-MC guys mixed with the sweet promise of love, redemption, and happiness with understanding women. But at the core of it all is doing whatever it takes for family and those that mean the most.

"I will burn the world down for you."

Salem is stranded on the side of the road and Jud comes to her rescue. After getting her dry and safe, he makes it known he will take care of her car, after all he runs a garage. But he wouldn’t mind taking care of more than just her car if he can get her to drop the walls she has around herself.

She is running scared, but trying to make a home for herself and her daughter with her grandmother and brother. For the first time she thinks she might have run long enough to set down some roots and stay in one place, let Juni have some normalcy in her life. Jud has his own demons that he is running from, a past that he wants to outrun. The only difference is he hasn’t left home to run from his demons.

These two are a match. Both fighting their past, both scared to settle down. But what if they have finally found the one person who would make facing the past worth the battle?

Oh my goodness, as this story continued and their pasts were revealed I couldn’t help but love these two even more. The things they had overcome (or were running from) would have knocked out most people but they just kept fighting. I loved every twist and turn this plot took, and though I had worked out part of some of the big shockers, I was still surprised by several details.

The kids in the series are so much fun. In the last book, Gage stole several scenes, and Juni in this one does the same. Put them both of the page together and it is pure gold.

A.L. Jackson delivers once again with her atmospheric, lyrical writing style. She sets a mood that carries through every scene, writing both familiar and compelling. I loved Jud and Salem’s story (possibly more than the first in this series) and look forward to more from this series and the Lawson brothers. (And maybe someday a Juni and Gage story?!)
Give Me a Reason (#1)
From NYT and USA Today bestselling author A.L. Jackson comes a single-dad, enemies-to-lovers stand-alone romance about a jaded club owner and his son’s teacher…

Eden Murphy came into my club looking to make some extra cash.
A girl like her didn't belong in a place like this.
She'd get ripped to shreds.
Most likely by me.

There's nothing but sweetness dripping from her sexy little body, and I'm the monster who's salivating to get a taste.

Trent Lawson is the last man I should want.

Dark.
Dangerous.
So wickedly gorgeous he makes my knees weak.
He's also an arrogant jerk who happens to be my new boss.
When I discover his adorable son is also in my kindergarten class, I know I have to keep my distance.

But neither of us can ignore the attraction that flames.

One glance, and our hearts race.
One touch, and we’re aching for what we can’t have.
One night, and we’re falling fast.

Dragging her into my sordid world is wrong.

It doesn’t matter.
Eden Murphy is mine.
