Trina discovered her boyfriend was cheating on her in a most disastrous way. On her way out of the apartment they shared, she decided to take his VIP experience hockey tickets. Turns out that VIP experience included more than just a photo op and game.

Chase and Ryker are rivals on the ice, but best friends off. They have a pact to not let a woman come between them again. But after the photo op they were roped into by their PR firms, they find themselves attracted to the same woman. Chase is the easy going, good guy. Ryker is more brooding, with a PR image to build.

I really like all of these characters. They were easy to like as individuals and they were fire behind closed doors. I struggled a little bit seeing their arrangement as more than a target of opportunity/hook-up situation, but as the story built I fell in love with this trio. These two men like each other but love Trina, and everything they do is for her. What’s not to love there?!

The spice rating would put this book through the roof. The scenes are h.o.t. Hot. But there is plenty of heart behind that heat, and hangups to work through as they decide how to navigate a non-traditional relationship with the media watching as well as their more traditional- leaning families.

This is a standalone sports, why choose story. I kind of liked that Trina wasn’t into hockey at all at the beginning of the book but developed an understanding and love for the game as it progressed. It was fun to see a sports romance where a character doesn’t live and breathe the sport. As far as the why choose, if one hockey player is good, why not two? This was also an introduction to a whole set of characters that were fun to get to know and I’d love to see more of!
