My hot best friend has no idea what he’s doing to me.

He sends me naughty texts at the most inappropriate times. He lets me fall asleep on top of him when we watch movies. And his protective side comes out if I dance too close to anyone at our favorite club.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but those are things a boyfriend does. Except August isn’t my boyfriend, he’s my bestfriend, and those lines are drawn in permanent marker. The one time we tried to cross the boundary between friends and lovers, it failed so spectacularly that we never did it again. So … “friends” is good enough. That’s what I tell myself. Because at least I have him in my life. Without him, I’d be lost.

But after we’re dared to kiss, and that kiss reshapes reality, we agree to be friends who do things with each other. Nakey things.

That makes my life so much better. And so much worse. After all, August doesn’t want to settle down, and he never wants to get married. While I do.

Most importantly, no matter how our relationship changes, he can’t find out I’m desperately in love with him.

Oblivious is a sweet and steamy contemporary m/m romance about best friends who don’t know they’re already dating. Noah and August are always touching, finish each other’s sentences, and bristle whenever the other gets within six feet of a date, but they can’t see what’s crystal clear to everyone else. Oblivious features badly timed schmexy texts, a hot kiss that rocks two men’s universes, and (unofficially, but likely) the highest number of heartfelt marriage proposals in a romance novel ever.

Oh my, these two. Best friends for twenty-five years and are as close as two friends can be but are both completely oblivious.

August Ramirez comes from a big, nosy, loving family and at nine years old basically declared the new boy next door to be his friend immediately. He is a risk taker, adrenaline junkie, impulsive, easygoing, and affectionate.

Noah Weston gained a new best friend when he moved in with his grandparents as s kid. He is thoughtful, sensitive, and an overthinker. He has abandonment issues. He has been in love with August since they were teens but has always denied it adamantly for self-preservation and to avoid losing his best friend. Unfortunately, August knows about his denial and took it to heart.

They stayed together as best friends, neighbors, and are now business partners in their own LGBT+-friendly law firm. They can be inappropriate with their meme messages and dares. They push each other to take risks and challenge the other. They share a life and are each other's person. But they keep the deep-down unresolved feelings hidden to avoid issues. Everyone can see it but them. And that is the oblivious part.

But when a dare pushes them into a public kiss, the blinders start to come down and the foundation of their relationship will be rocked to its core. The chemistry between them is unleashed. Thoughts and perceptions are challenged. But these two have misconceptions and thought processes that have kept them from trying for something more for years(even though they really have kind of been dating all along). And despite the fact that they share so many things, sometimes sharing the most important and more sensitive information is difficult for them and it makes it hard for them to really believe in the potential of what they could be.

Is the risk of losing their friendship worth the possible reward of admitting they are the love of each other's lives?

This is a heartfelt, witty, steamy, swoony, longtime best friends-to-lovers and office romance with just enough angst to make it interesting. I adored both August and Noah, but August gets the swoon-master award. It brings back the other couples from the previous books since they work at the law firm. I l also loved the Ramirez clan and Noah's grandpa. I am excited that Shelby's story will be next.
