The fur is about to fly between a cheerful cat sitter and a grumpy hockey nerd in this hilarious and charming rom-com by the New York Times bestselling author of Meet Cute .

Kitty Hart has become internet famous as the Kitty Whisperer for her expertise on all things feline, and as a result, her cat-sitting business is booming. But lately, she has a terrible feeling that maybe her life isn’t quite going where it’s supposed to—especially after falling face-first into her newest client. Not exactly the best first impression .

Fortunately, Miles Thorn is just as bad at first impressions. Strike he doesn’t like cats, especially Prince Francis, the haughty and mischievous Sphynx his mom left in his care. Strike tackling Kitty to the floor in a misguided attempt to save the pet he continually calls “the gremlin.”

As awkwardness slides into attraction and things start to turn purr-sonal, will these two complete opposites ever be able to find their furry-tail ending?

Miles Thom has a new exciting job working as a data analyst for an NFL team, but he is being pulled away by the stress of his mother being in the hospital and dealing with her misbehaving cat. He only knows how to take care of his dog. So he calls Kitty Hart...The Kitty Whisperer.

Kitty is upbeat, quirky, awkward, clumsy, and unfiltered. She loves owning her own company and helping people with their cats, but she is a bit socially awkward and stuck in a rut.

He is grumpy, overwhelmed, and tends to say all the wrong things. These two have a not-so-meet cute which is both a bit embarrassing and antagonistic. Miles does not have a great attitude about the precocious cat and Kitty just wants to share her love with the misunderstood sweetheart. So they initially are wary of each other and butt heads.

But as they begin to spend more time together, Kitty begins to help him not just with the cat, but also helping him cope with some hard situations. As they begin to open up and bond over the pain and guilt from their tragic pasts, they begin to give each other understanding, acceptance, and healing.

It seems they meet the right person at the right time just when they need someone. There is not a lot of relationship angst, and the drama is mostly dealing with their own personal issues and external problems. But I loved how these two bonded and were there for each other when it counted. They are both somewhat awkward and put their foot in their mouths often, but their hearts are in the right place and they are kind of adorkable together.

This is a sweet, punny, sexy, shenanigan-filled, opposites-attract romance that also deals with underlying serious topics and family tragedies so it has some deeper emotions layered in. It is about embracing change and learning to let go in order to move on to a brighter future. The cat and dog are total scene stealers. I also liked her friend, Kat, and sister, Hattie, and his friends, Josh and Parker.

Miles Thorn is in the middle of some very stressful situations. His mother is in the hospital, leaving him to care for her cat. The only problem is the cat is his nemesis and he finds himself sneezing anytime he is near the cat. But even if he loved cats, his job keeps him busy and traveling often, which means he can’t take care of the cat without help.

Kitty Hart has built an internet following with her cat sitting and cat care content. Running a cat sitting business, cats are her life. But she has a hard time keeping things professional when she meets her newest client and can’t believe the first impression she left. She lives with her mom and sister, and though she loves her job and family, she can’t help but look around and wonder if she is really where she is supposed to be.

These two are opposites in some ways but two peas in a pod in others. They are both just a little socially awkward. Tripping over their wods (and saying things they meant to keep in an inside voice), their awkwardness is both physical and verbal. He’s naturally grumpy due to all the disruptions to his normal routine at the beginning of the story. He may have come off as a jerk and a grump, but most people would be given the situation. Kitty is always sunny - to the point where she ignores what is really going on sometimes in favor of pretending everything is a-ok.

Though this dug into some pretty emotional situations and each character was dealing with some pretty heavy events in their lives, the story itself felt light and easy. I found myself tearing up at a few moments, but did a whole lot more guffawing throughout. The animal comedic relief was absolute perfection. The dog and cat provided many moments of hilarity (and a few of conflict, as well).
