After a disastrous high school game of spin the bottle, I gave up trying to get a boyfriend and spent my time studying instead. Now I’m twenty-four, and I’m not only a virgin, I haven’t even been kissed.

When I meet Danny, a handsome legal hotshot, he catches my eye. Right before I trip on flat ground. Ugh.

He’s got a massive … reputation. He’s the most popular guy in the club, a total playboy with a new conquest every night. There’s no way he’d be interested in me.

But one night after I imbibe too much, he winds up taking care of me. And when I ask for his help with my travesty of a social life, he agrees to teach me how to be less awkward with men … if I let him document my progress so he can win a bet with his best friend.

Even though he’s just my love tutor and I’m just his apprentice, this starts to feel like more.

Too bad it can’t be anything but a high-level seminar in how to seduce someone else.

Studious is a sweet and sexy contemporary opposites-attract m/m romance about a suave attorney who’s scared to love and the shy, nerdy bookkeeper he’s teaching how to be a player. Cue makeover montage and a smoldering first kiss. These heroes most definitely are not falling in love. (Okay, heartwarming HEA guaranteed.)

Alden Meyer has always been and still is quiet, awkward, introverted, anxious, klutzy, and lonely. He is also still a virgin and has never been kissed. He loves his new job as a bookkeeper at a law firm because numbers make more sense to him than people.

Danny Villasenor got his heart broken once and vowed never to let it happen again. So he is a confident, outgoing, player by night and a lawyer by day. He does not do repeats and is known as an excellent hook-up. But he might be getting a little bored.

They can admire each other a bit. But when a situation occurs that has Alden being brave enough to ask Danny for lessons to boost his sex appeal and knowledge, things might get a bit tricky. And Danny needs something to give his social media a boost to win a bet so taking on Alden as a pet project seems like a great human interest angle. It's just two guys helping each other out. What could go wrong?

Alden is just so sweet, pure, awkward, and adorkable. And Danny is kind, supportive,  protective, and caring despite thinking he has no heart to give. His abandonment issues run as deep as his need to make sure Alden is encouraged to get everything he deserves. I loved how Danny could appreciate Alden for himself even when Alden was sure he was a total loser. And how Alden's pure sweetness and vulnerability taps into something Danny has tried to shut off for years.

Lessons. Crushes. Friendship. Like. Lust. Living life. Fear of loss.

But it is just supposed to be a contained experiment. No wayward wants or feelings. But some things are hard to control and it is hard to always be brave enough to ask for what you really want.

This is a sweet, sexy, heartfelt, inspiring, opposites-attract, emotionally unavailable player-virgin pupil, lessons-in-seduction, first times, workplace romance about finding acceptance, trust, and unconditional love. Both characters have plenty of opportunities for growth and pushing boundaries, and both have fears and insecurities making them vulnerable. I adored these two together and their story.

It can be read as a total stand alone but I enjoyed glimpses of Sam and Jules from Ambiguous and liked the other side characters Shelby, Charlie, Mason, and especially Noah and August that I am looking forward to more of in Oblivious
