New York Times bestselling author, Corinne Michaels, brings a new sweet and endearing love story to life in the third STANDALONE in the Arrowood Brothers series.

Devney Maxwell has been my best friend since we were six years old, but she has no idea I’m in love with her.

Even when I’m on the road playing professional baseball, she’s my home—the only one I’ve ever known. But when I return to Sugarloaf to care for the family farm, I discover she’s trying to talk herself into a life with the wrong man … and I become desperate.

It only takes a single, perfect kiss to change everything.

I have six months to get it right with Devney—to convince her to leave this town and turn that kiss into forever.

I aim to do just that as I spend my days coaching her nephew’s baseball team, fixing up the farm, and loving her with all I have. Finally, it seems like our relationship is secure and we’ll find a way to make it work.

Then tragedy strikes ... changing her life forever. She’s needed here more than ever, but as for me—there’s no way I can stay.

I know she’s the one for me, but I might have to let her go ...

" Just because you don't hit the bulls-eye, it doesn't mean the other shots don't count."

Sean Arrowood left Sugarloaf to follow his dreams of being a professional baseball player, and that meant leaving his family and best friend, Devney behind. But now he is being mandated to come home for six months and stay on the family property due to stipulations in his father's will. He did not plan on kissing his longtime best friend before coming back for an extended time...but he did. And now things might just be a bit awkward. He has always loved her, but knows his traveling career is not conducive to being with her.

Devney has always been honest with Sean except for one big secret she is holding onto that still haunts her, and maybe the fact she has loved him forever. She is stubborn and closed-off, but also has a big heart and tries to make everyone else happy. But when things get tough, she can be a bit of a runner. Right now her life is in Sugarloaf and she does not plan on leaving.

The kiss will have repercussions on her safe, boring life. And she knows Sean's return is going to turn her life upside down. And Sean is ready to do damage control if needed.

These two are so great together! These Arrowood boys just keep getting better and Sean is just the swooniest, sexiest, and sweetest so far! He is so charming, lovable, fun, and devoted. They have been friends for over twenty years and have such a deep bond.  But a couple of stolen kisses send their friendship into new territory with new worries and fears. They have the potential to be amazing or the risk of losing all they have meant to each other.

But it seems no matter how close they get to their target, there are obstacles in their way.
With one tied down and the other who has to go, it does not seem like they will ever get a fair shot.

This is a heartfelt and passionate friends-to-lovers story about choices, family, and true love. It has humor and fun, but also angst and heartbreak. Both of them have some secrets and their pasts still affect them. They will have to find a way to stop looking back to have a chance of moving forward. And life just keeps throwing things at them.

"Forget the last arrow because only the next shot counts."

It brings back all of the Arrowood boys and their significant others. I love how they taunt and tease each other, but have also found their way back to each other and grown during this process. We also meet her family which is a central part of the story. And I might have squeed just a bit with a couple of cameos. I am looking forward to Jacob's book next since there is a little tease in this one.

**And I have to mention the men on these covers! They truly look like gorgeous brothers!

From New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels comes a new emotional and riveting love story in the first standalone novel in the Arrowood Brothers series.

One night, eight years ago, she gave me peace.
No names.
No promises.
Just two broken people, desperate to quiet their pain and grief.

In the morning, she was gone and had taken my solace with her. I left for the military that day, vowing never to return to Pennsylvania.

When my father dies, I’m forced to go home to bury him. At least I'll finally be rid of his farm, which is grown over and tangled with memories I've fought to forget.

And that’s when I find her. She’s even more beautiful than I remember and has the most adorable kid I’ve ever seen.

Years have passed, but my feelings are the same, and this time I refuse to let her go. They say you can't bury the past, and they're right. Because when long-ago secrets are exposed, rocking us both to the core, I have no choice but to watch her walk away again. . .

I fell in love with Sydney Hastings when I was ten years old.

At sixteen, we whispered promises of forever.
When I was twenty-two I broke them all. I left her and promised never to return.

After my father's death, I’m forced to go home to Sugarloaf for six months. She'll be everywhere, no longer just in my memories and regrets.

When we’re together, it’s as though time never stopped. She’s still the one I want, but I don’t deserve her. Instead of apologizing, I take that beautiful, broken woman in my arms. But after that, it’s her turn to leave me.

Now I have to fight. For her. For us. For the life we both want …
