Memphis Ward arrives in Quincy, Montana, on the fifth worst day of her life. She needs a shower. She needs a snack. She needs some sanity. Because moving across the country with her newborn baby is by far the craziest thing she’s ever done.

But maybe it takes a little crazy to build a good life. If putting the past behind her requires a thousand miles and a new town, she’ll do it if it means a better future for her son. Even if it requires setting aside the glamour of her former life. Even if it requires working as a housekeeper at The Eloise Inn and living in an apartment above a garage.

It’s there, on the fifth worst day of her life, that she meets the handsomest man she’s ever laid eyes on. Knox Eden is a beautiful, sinful dream, a chef and her temporary landlord. With his sharp, stubbled jaw and tattooed arms, he’s raw and rugged and everything she’s never had—and never will. Because after the first worst day of her life, Memphis learned a good life requires giving up on her dreams too. And a man like Knox Eden will only ever be a dream.

Memphis Ward is at the end of a long journey and at her wit's end when she finally makes it to her new home on Juniper Hill. She is moving to Quincy, Montana with her infant son to escape her old life and start a new one. She had no idea the loft apartment her new boss found for her was attached to her not-so-welcoming brother's home.

Knox Eden is a work-a-holic chef and restaurant owner. Although he loves his big meddling family, he also likes his peace and privacy. Memphis and Drake temporarily staying in his garage apartment is something he agreed to under duress to make his sister happy. He is grumpy, jaded, and a bit intense.

Memphis is struggling, overwhelmed, and trying to keep it all together. Knox tries to be guarded, resist temptation, and carry on as normal. His nights are not peaceful anymore. Ghosts of his pasts rear their ugly head. But eventually, he lets himself get more involved in their lives. And there is really no stopping it once he begins to let them in.

Memphis gave up a life of privilege to be part of the working class in order to make a life for her infant son. But she constantly questions her own choices. Her struggles are so real and emotions so raw. Having a woman and a baby thrust into his life is a big change for Knox. They have both been through some things that cause trust issues and have some explanations that are needed about their pasts. And they do have some challenges to face.

This is an emotional, heartfelt, passionate, grumpy-loner-meets-single-mom, city-girl-moves-to-small-town love story with just the right amount of angst and suspense. I adored these two together. Their walls coming down and their growth were wonderful to see. Their connection and relationship progressed organically as they found unexpected hope and healing. Knox is loyal, passionate, protective, and caring. And Memphis is strong, sweet, and determined to be the best person she can be.

I loved seeing more of the Edens and how they support each other. There are some struggles but ultimately they just want what is best for each other. I like that they all have their own areas of interest and help each other realize their dreams. This just made my heart so happy!

I am looking forward to Talia's book next. I also cannot wait for Eloise, Lyla, and Mateo's stories.
Memphis Ward left her old life with nothing more than would fit into her car and her infant son. She doesn’t want the strings that came with the life her parents had created for her and wasn’t willing to play by their rules any longer. But the small town she has chosen for her new start isn’t bursting with housing opportunities, so she takes the loft apartment her new boss found for her even though it is quickly clear that her landlord was not looking for a tenant and would prefer she stay away.

Knox Eden likes the quiet of his secluded home to recover from the hectic pace of his restaurant kitchen. Running Knuckles, the restaurant in his family’s hotel, is his entire world. He is a little on the gruff side, loves his family, and is used to having his own space. He was reluctant to let Eloise let her new hire move in, but surely something in town will open up soon so he can have his solitude again. Only, the more he gets to know his new tenant the more he doesn’t want her or her son to leave.

I loved watching these two open up. Both are closed off for different reasons, but are each strong in their own ways. Memphis left behind her world of privilege that left her counting her days in 2 columns - best and worst, and the worst drastically outnumbered the best. Though Knox liked his solitude, he also recognized the struggle Memphis was dealing with and reached out as best he could. I never would have guessed the secrets he was keeping based on what we saw from him in Indigo Ridge. Each new connection and step in their relationship had me falling in love further with them as individuals and as a couple.

I loved returning to the world of Quincy, Montana and the Eden family. There is a thread of some minor family drama running in the background, as Knox has a big decision to make related to the hotel, but I love the way that each member of the family works together and knows each other so well and I can’t wait for more in this series!

From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry comes a small town, enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance.

Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.

According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.

Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.

As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.
