Tim:

I lost my husband three years ago. I’ve survived by focusing on raising my daughter.

Until I meet Jamie.

He’s wrong for me for so many reasons.

Too young. Too charming. Too beautiful.

But he works at the school where I teach, and I can’t resist spending time with him.

Our connection is undeniable despite the many differences between us. Which leaves me wondering—is it possible to find your soul mate twice?

Jamie:

A past relationship left me with massive scars, but this connection with Tim differs from anything I’ve had.

We laugh together, connect on a billion and one levels, and he’s the kindest man I’ve ever met.

Falling for a settled older man with a daughter isn’t part of my plan to travel and explore the world.

But I can’t deny my feelings for Tim. And honestly? I couldn’t be happier.

Until a secret from the past threatens to destroy everything.

Tim is a mid-thirties, widowed, single dad, and science teacher. He has struggled with grief and trying to be enough, but is ready to at least explore new relationships even if he does not have much game.

Jamie is the charming, handsome, younger, new sports coordinator at the school. He has had his own loss in the past and had some issues but is working to get his life on track.

They like what they see and soon like talking and spending time together. Things seem almost too easy. But Jamie is younger and has plans. Tim is older, established, and has obligations. So there are a few differences and challenges.

This is a new to me author, so I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect from her writing style. For a while, I was just kind of cruising along, thinking "oh, this is so easy and uncomplicated."  And I thought I knew what the problem was going to end up being and that it would be pretty easy to manage.

But then one thing surprised me,  changed the outlook of everything, and it became more complicated. Then I realized that I was emotionally invested in these guys and their connection, and how much benefit they had both received from being in each other's lives. Tim had just been living half a life and Jamie didn’t really know what real love and care were supposed to feel like.

They both have such big beautiful hearts but are really broken in their own ways, but they make each other feel happy and more fulfilled. So when something threatens their potential happiness, it really is kind of a gut punch and took the story in a direction I did not anticipate.

This is a sweet, sexy, emotional, single dad, age gap, coworkers, and new-friends-to-lovers romance. The guys actually talk to each other and have a fun and witty rapport, but there are also more deep emotions layered into the story from both past and present issues. I loved how they interacted with Tim's daughter, Stella, and what an important part she had in the story as well. Their friends were supportive, fun, and intriguing. It makes me wonder if we will see at least one of them in their own story.

My stories are all about light-hearted conversations and deeply-felt connections. I love exploring exactly why two characters are the only ones who’ll make the other truly happy, and the journey they take to reach their happily-ever-after

I live in New Zealand with my family and a wide assortment of animals. I’m a rabid sports fan, a hiking enthusiast and have a slightly unhealthy addiction to nature documentaries. I have also been known to read the odd book on occasion.
