Release Blitz: Beautiful Hearts: Jax Calder
This is a new to me author, so I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect from her writing style. For a while, I was just kind of cruising along, thinking "oh, this is so easy and uncomplicated." And I thought I knew what the problem was going to end up being and that it would be pretty easy to manage.
But then one thing surprised me, changed the outlook of everything, and it became more complicated. Then I realized that I was emotionally invested in these guys and their connection, and how much benefit they had both received from being in each other's lives. Tim had just been living half a life and Jamie didn’t really know what real love and care were supposed to feel like.
They both have such big beautiful hearts but are really broken in their own ways, but they make each other feel happy and more fulfilled. So when something threatens their potential happiness, it really is kind of a gut punch and took the story in a direction I did not anticipate.
This is a sweet, sexy, emotional, single dad, age gap, coworkers, and new-friends-to-lovers romance. The guys actually talk to each other and have a fun and witty rapport, but there are also more deep emotions layered into the story from both past and present issues. I loved how they interacted with Tim's daughter, Stella, and what an important part she had in the story as well. Their friends were supportive, fun, and intriguing. It makes me wonder if we will see at least one of them in their own story.
