When it comes to regrets, I have none. My life is perfect. I own a bar, work hard, party harder, and smother my niblings in all the love they deserve. I don’t need to settle down, as much as my sister might want me to.

But then Joey Manning walks into my office and leaves me all but begging to give him a job … and wanting to give him so much more.

The self-professed straight man is in my head and while I know that I need to move on from him, my body isn’t getting that message. It doesn’t help that Joey is a grade A flirt who can banter with the best of them.

I’ve never had regrets. Not until Joey Manning.

Joey

The bills keep piling up and the pressure to get my sisters through college before we’re evicted is always on the back of my mind. Whoever said life was for living, clearly forgot that living’s expensive.

My default mode is stressed AF and working myself to the bone, and there’s only one person who gives me a break from all that.

Art de Almeida.

My boss.

The one man I shouldn’t flirt with, but I can’t seem to stop. I want to get under his skin. To leave him panting for me. Which wouldn’t be such a bad thing except that he thinks I’m straight, and I’ve never bothered to correct him.

I need this job.

But some days I worry that I need Art more.

Art de Almeida is the owner of Killer Brew and a member of the Divorced Men's Club. He is known to be a total player and does not entertain the idea of relationships. He is happy running his bar, helping his friends and others if they need it. He is older, intimidating, and a bit gruff, but he is also thoughtful and supportive even if he does try to hide his feelings.

Joey Manning is drowning in debt and responsibility and really needs a break. He is handsome, charismatic, flirty, outgoing, and determined to be Art's next bartender. He worms his way into his bar and his life. He loves to tease, challenge, and tempt Art. despite the fact he is supposedly straight. But he also has self-worth issues, many obligations, and seems to never be able to get ahead. Thus begins this game of cat and mouse. They circle around each other not really understanding the other's real intentions. They test each other's boundaries, patience, and sanity, The push and pull and resistance are real and do a number on both of their mental health and keep them physically charged. But there is more to both of these guys under their easygoing facades. And if they can just find a bit of patience and understanding, let each other in, and be vulnerable and honest then there is potential for more than they ever expected or thought they could ever have. This is a boss/employee, bi-awakening, forced proximity romance where not all is as it seems. These guys totally surprised me and I really loved them both. They have such big and giving hearts even if they are in completely different life situations. They truly care about friends and family. Together they have flirty and witty banter and serious chemistry. And even they are both finding themselves kind of addicted to each other, they are also both fearful of getting hurt or hurting the other.
There are cameos from the other DMC members and some newer guys and more epic group chats. I am looking forward to Keller and Will's continuing clueless adventures.
