A single dad sheriff doing his best to protect his town. A gorgeous stranger caught trespassing. A love never expected…

So, it turns out the town sheriff is a total cinnamon roll. A big, burly, grumpy, hot as sin, cinnamon roll. He found me hiding out on private property. Trespassing. I lied and told him I was only there because I was out of cash and had to sleep in my car.

I thought he’d give me a ticket and send me on my way.

Instead, he insisted that I stay at his guest house—right next door to him and his three kids.

I know better than to let them get close. I’ve been betrayed too many times to put my trust in anyone.

Too bad the air crackles every time he comes near, and I feel like I’m going to burn up every time I look at him.

All it takes is one reckless night to completely spiral into the bliss of the man and his big, capable hands. One dinner with his little family to completely fall.

Only I never told him why I really came to Time River. Now I have to choose to trust him with my secret before it’s too late for both of us…

Ezra is the town Sheriff, who is also a widower and single dad. He is big, burly, loyal, fair, protective, and good guy who is just a bit grumpy. He has guilt, regrets, and demons that he cannot let rest and he has some secrets he has kept locked down. He is focusing on helping his kids move forward, but he is still stuck trying to solve a crime from the past.

When he finds a woman sleeping in her car, she pulls out all of his protective instincts. And it makes him act uncharacteristically pushy with the need to know she is safe.

Savannah is in Time River on her own mission to find someone important to her. She only has some miscellaneous clues and she hopes that they have let her in the right direction, but it’s not much to go on. But she is a girl who has never had anyone to rely on, so she is guarded, untrusting, scared, lonely, and focused on finding what she is looking for.

She did not expect to find a protector that wants to help make her stay in town safe and comfortable. But these two find more than they expected, and definitely more than they were looking for or think they can handle. Both don’t think they need a distraction from their goals. And she’s not supposed to stay, so Ezra doesn’t think he or his kids can take any more loss. But the chemistry, connection, and feeling of rightness between them continues to grow, and so does their trust in each other. They both have some baggage and secrets. And as the trust grows, they become more involved in understanding each other’s pasts, and working together to deal with the past in order to have a chance to move on.

There’s a suspense and mystery plot running through the story between both of their back stories. This is a sweet, sexy, and heartwarming, new girl in town, single dad, close proximity, found family, love story with some secrets and twists. And it’s not just about the connection between Savannah and Ezra, but it’s also with his kids and his family and friends. Savannah has never known support, acceptance, and a true sense of community and safety. But she’s afraid to start feeling like part of it, and lose it again since she has abandonment and trust issues.

I loved these two together. I adored Ezra as he’s such a teddy bear and protective and swoony hero He is the most amazing dad to his three precocious little ones. But Savannah is sassy, strong, bold, caring, and protective in her own right.

This book was longer and a bit quieter, and it wasn’t as intense with the danger in the subplots, even though there were some that ran through the story. I will admit I had started to figure out most of the secrets but it was still a layered plotline with interesting twists.

At the heart of the story was tall of the relationships and how they look out for each other in Time River. It brings back all of the characters from the series and brings them together in fun times and challenging ones. Cody is supposed to be up next and I am curious what he will get into.
Savannah is in Time River temporarily as she seeks answers about her sister’s whereabouts. A series of clues left in a journal has her convinced that her sister was in Time River, and she’s hoping to find someone who has some answers. But she didn’t count on being caught trespassing on her first night in town, nor did she count on the sheriff being around every turn for her first few days in town.

Ezra is not the grieving widower everyone thinks he is, but he pretends to maintain the memory everyone else had of his wife. He has a new normal that is working for him and his kids. Finding a trespasser isn’t too far beyond a normal overnight shift as a small town sheriff, but he doesn’t usually find himself drawn to the people he picks up while patrolling. He can’t get the Little Trespasser out of his mind and quickly finds himself keeping her close as he discovers why she intrigues him so much.

Ezra is at his core a caretaker. I loved the way he quickly moved in and set things up to help Savannah find her footing in Time River. His kids added a spark of sweetness and I loved their innocent attachments to Savannah.

Together, these two were so much fun to watch. From the way they both tried so hard to ignore what was building, for their own reasons, to the way they looked out for the other. They quickly moved to the top of my favorite couples in Time River.

I loved the direction this story took. The suspense surrounding the people each character was looking for kept me turning pages and making guesses. Some of my guesses were correct and some surprised me a little bit.

Once again, returning to Time River held me captive in this small town, tight knit community. I love the way these characters fight for each other, stand up together, and build one large family including newcomers as if they had always been there. I can’t wait to see where this series takes us next!

A jaded single dad. A woman returning to her small-town roots. Neither was prepared for their paths to collide…

I should have known I was in trouble when I backed my old, beat-up truck into the shiny Range Rover.

The driver looked like a gorgeous fallen angel – one who’d been booted right out of paradise for being a giant prick.

Good thing I’ll never have to see him again.

Except when I show up for my new job to teach a little girl how to ride her horse, I find the same icy blue eyes glaring back at me.

Paisley Dae is completely reckless. She’s also the best trainer in this small town. And Evelyn gets the best.

Protecting the little girl is my one focus.

Only the sassy trainer in her cut-offs and cowgirl boots quickly gets under my skin. Distractions are dangerous, but she soon becomes everything I crave.

One reckless night of giving in, and Caleb and I spiral into a web of passion.

But when I begin to unravel the secrets hiding in this place, I find there is more riding on this job than I thought.

Caleb and Evelyn are worth any sacrifice – only Caleb has to decide what he will sacrifice for me…

When my best friend's little sister walks in on me moaning her name, it's all over. All restraints are shattered, and every boundary demolished. Nothing will be the same...

For years, I've tried to keep my distance from Dakota Cooper. She's everything I've ever wanted and the one thing I can't have.

But when she calls me in the middle of the night after someone tries to break into her house, I can no longer handle that distance, and I convince her to stay with me, along with her young son.

I should have known having her living under my roof would push me to the edge. Ignite the need that has simmered for so long.

The problem is, she's forbidden. Off-limits. And I know better than crossing that line.
I can't drag her into the dark secrets of my life.

But I can't stay away from her either, so I do the one thing I shouldn't—I take.
And now that I've had her, I'm not sure I can save her from who I am. . .
