Genre: M/M Later-in-Life Romance
Trope: Age-gap, best friend's dad, roommates to lovers, small-town

Keller

Banging my son’s bestie was a total accident that will never, ever happen again. I’m sure of it.

While he might be gorgeous and caught me in a weak moment, when it comes right down to it, my son has been my entire life for the last twenty-six years. I don’t know how to be anything other than his dad.

But with Molly heading off to Seattle, he leaves me with a parting gift: Will.

His best friend.

And my new roommate.

Still, I’m determined to focus on my plan of finding someone to settle down with and to start living for me.

Then Molly hits me with another gift: he’s asked Will to help find me the perfect partner.

Will

Molly running away across the country and leaving me made one thing very obvious. I crave stability. I crave a life where I get to control what happens to me, without the constant threat of having to move home to my homophobic family.

All I need to focus on is work and making enough money for the downpayment on my own place.

Except now I’m living in the spare bedroom of the man I’ve been in love with for years.

The same bedroom where we had one very messy, very quick accidental frot sesh.

Now I’m cooking for him every night, and we’re working out together every morning. It’s all feeling very domestic and my heart can’t separate reality from the fantasies in my head.

I know I’m going to get hurt.

It’s only a matter of time.

But when it comes to Keller, it’s impossible for me to walk away.
Keller is a forty-two-year-old single dad whose twenty-six-year-old son has just moved away. He has put his son first in his life since he himself was a new teen father. He is big and built, but kind, and caring, He is lonely and thinks it might be time to start trying to date seriously.

His son Molly left his best friend Will behind and he is determined that Will will be his dad's new roommate so he knows that they are both taken care of. Will has had a secret crush on his best friend's dad for years. And now he is living in his spare room and spending time in close quarters with him. Will is sweet, fun, flirty, and easily embarrassed. He also craves stability, safety, and wants to set down roots. And to complicate matters, Molly also wants Will to help his dad find a suitable match for dating.

These two are such a hot mess. Will has his longtime crush that just keeps getting more sexually charged. And Keller is definitely seeing Will more as a tempting man.  These two actually work well as roommates and genuinely enjoy each other's company and their chemistry is fire. But there is the whole age gap, insecurities, secret from Molly and repercussions, meddling friends, and the roommate component to complicate things.

This one has a lot of temptation, sexual tension, back and forth, fear of getting hurt, and guilt. They fumble blindly into situations trying to push boundaries but not quite cross that line. Even when they start to know what they want, they still are not so sure about what the other feels, and even once that clears up then there are other real-world complications. I honestly loved Keller and Will together. Will is mature enough and Keller is so charismatic, and the age gap did not seem like a big deal to me. But the threat of Molly being upset seemed to just keep this low-level tension throughout.

This brings back the other Divorced Men's Club couples butting their noses into the situation for better or worse. And Keller's son Molly is the main character in Not Dating Material after he moved to Seattle so it ties to The Accidental Love series as well.
