Lube Job
Big Bull Mechanics #5
K.M. Neuhold
Amazon
Release Date November 3, 2023

The only thing bigger than Riggs’ attitude is his tool… And only one of those problems can be solved with more lube…

There's no tragic backstory or closet stuffed full of skeletons from relationships’ past. I've just never been very good at the “very special episode” sh*t. If you're looking for a shoulder to cry on, may I suggest a therapist?

Casual fun with my emotionally stunted, overgrown frat boy roommate slash co-worker should be perfect, right? Shep seems to be just as allergic to commitment as I am to emotions, but that doesn't mean we don't need our stroker rods serviced, if you catch my drift.

Now if he'll just stop looking at me with those dopey puppy dog eyes while I'm elbow deep in a diesel engine, and making my stomach flip with that smile of his, that would be great…

Riggs is a smaller-built twinky guy but with a big attitude, big walls, and a blessed with a big package. He’s grumpy, snarky, moody, confident, and a loner who likes to keep people at arm's length. He has never done love and doesn’t plan on trying it anytime soon.

And Shep is a one-and-done kind of playboy, and it seems to cause him some issues when he doesn’t want to repeat and his conquests get trippy. He is outgoing, sarcastic, funny, nosy, friendly, and loves to rile Riggs up.

When Riggs needs a place to stay, they become unlikely roommates. Too horny commitment-phobes living in one space. It seems like the answer to their problems. Or is it? Neither of them is looking for love, but what happens if someone catches feels?

This is an antagonistic, steamy, snarky, coworkers and new roommates, supposed to be a just-getting-off-and-not-catching-feels story. But the progression of their friendship and relationship is so organic and natural from just hanging out, to drunk cuddles, sharing O's, little touches, out-of-control thoughts, to feelings that are hard for them to even understand at times. It becomes so much more of an unexpected and strong connection, but with all kinds of confusing thoughts and messy feelings.

It is even more of a journey for Riggs to learn about why he has always felt different and incapable of love. But Shep has never wanted more with anyone either and does not understand his new obsession with his prickly roommate either. But these two spark and catch fire together. And along the way Shep just lets Riggs be Riggs. He encourages him, accepts him, and tries to not pressure him. And they stumble their way together into a relationship that makes them both happier than they ever thought they could be. The aromantic representation is done in a way that made it easy to understand. I really felt for these characters as they slowly figured out things about themselves and each other. There are serious unfamiliar emotions mixed in with crazy humor, jealousy, and intense passion.

This is my favorite of the series. It brings back all the Big Bull and Four Bears couples. I love all of their witty banter and how the couples are all so besotted with each other. These big burly guys are just big teddy bears in love, but they also share amazing friendships. And there is more with the bikers and tattoo studio guys and Shep has a twin brother, Axel too. So I am excited for more spin-off potentials.

I don’t have time for a relationship, not even with the adorably dorky vet I can’t seem to stop bumping into… *sigh * pass the oil and lube

Between running a garage full of beefed up, gear head mechanics and bailing my idiot brother out of trouble every other week, the last thing I have time for is a relationship.

I’ve tried it too many times, and the ridiculous reasons I always find to end it have become a running joke around the garage. But I’ve learned my lesson. No. More. Boyfriends.

I don’t care how many times Porter falls asleep drunk in my bed or how cute he looks covered in oil smears while I teach him how to fix up the vintage car he has rusting away in his garage, I’m not going to fall for him.

Even if I did, what do a mechanic and a veterinarian have in common anyway?

It’s better if we’re only friends… friends who occasionally fiddle with each other’s crankshafts…

Is there an easy way to tell your lifelong best friend that you secretly married his brother eight years ago? Asking for a friend…

When Gates shows up needing a place to crash, I offer him my spare room. Whatever happened between us nearly two decades ago is water under the bridge. I don’t lie awake at night wondering what could have been. Nope, definitely not.

But Gates seems determined to get a rise out of me. He’s tie-dyed all my clothes, removed my bedroom door, and replaced my hand soap with lube. I’m not sure if he’s hoping I’ll kick him out or kill him, but he won’t break me that easily.

When he tells me his Stroker Rod is broken… What kind of mechanic am I if I don’t get hands-on with his problem?

We put our feelings behind us a long time ago, and there’s no way I’ll let Gates break my heart again. No amount of fiddling under the hood will fix everything broken between us. From here on out, it’s purely physical. Right?

Yup, just a couple of guys and their stroker rods.

***Stroker is a best friend’s brother, secretly married, super steamy MM romance.

Is it possible my straight best friend had a sudden stick shift?

I made peace with my hopeless crush on my straight best friend, Journey, years ago. It helps that he’s never in the country long and our relationship consists of sporadic texts and video chats at odd hours.

Now Journey is back. Back in the country, in my space, sharing my bed, and something is changing between us.

Neither of us has a clue how to run the small farm his uncle left him, but I’m willing to be the idiot standing next to him, figuring it out. Learning how to shear an alpaca or keep a rogue mini cow out of the kitchen looks easy compared to navigating the sudden change in Journey.

Is he looking at me differently? Is he touching me more? Straight guys don’t normally kiss other men, right? I don’t know what’s happening between us, but I’ll put things in gear and floor it all the way.

Stick Shift is a bi-awakening, best friends to lovers story with farm animal shenanigans, nosy mechanics, and all the steam and sweetness you can handle.

Love is a highway, and Henry just got Rear Ended

I’ve spent my entire adult life working eighty hours a week, chasing money, security… success . When my recent start-up went under, leaving me with nothing to show for years of grinding myself down to the bone, I’m not sure who I am anymore. I never thought I’d be forty-eight with no money, living with my brother, trying to figure everything out from scratch. But, here we are…

All that chasing didn’t leave a lot of time for romance or relationships either. Unless you count the occasional hook-up to let off a little steam. Now I have all the free time in the world… but who would want a middle-aged failure anyway?

When one of my most recent hook-ups turns out to be my new coworker, I’m starting to think the universe is having a good laugh at my expense. As if Auggie wasn’t tempting enough with all of the tattoos and his surprisingly sweet smile, now I’m spending all day watching him work. He’s covered in grease, with his overalls half zipped… is it getting hot in here, or is it just me?

He’s impossible to resist, but that doesn’t make the timing any better. Body work is one thing, but I’m determined to keep my heart out of it. If only Auggie would stop baking me cookies and touching me in ways that keep my engine running all night long. I think we’re going to need some coolant in here, because things are definitely heating up…

Rear Ended is book 4 in the Big Bull Mechanics series but can be read as a stand alone. It’s full of mechanic puns, hilarious and swoony banter, tons of heat, and two men falling in love in spite of their best efforts to keep things casual.
Author K.M.Neuhold is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, MF romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book she was completely hooked on everything about lovely- and sometimes damaged- men finding their Happily Ever After together. She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul, and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series. When she’s not writing she’s a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero…just kidding, she’s likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky while her amazing husband brings her coffee.
